I would say the majority of households around the country follow the same method of voting, it might be more subtle than a lift down to the booths.
As in sectarian voting exists even amongst Muslim people?Wasn’t your Muslim bloc statement also a sweeping generalisation?
Catholics and high Protestants - Tories
Non-Conformists and low Protestants - Labour
Hindus - Tories
There's old trends. But usually the causality is to do with class
Writing as a native of Camden Town I never knew any of my fellow Catholics vote Conservative, it was either Labour or Communist.
I was thinking more British establishment, rather than decedents from more recent Irish immigrants (which Camden is traditionally rich in since the navvies). In the sense of both being preservers of tradition, hierarchy, patriarchy and conservative values etc. You wouldn't get say anti-abortionists in other parties. Iain Duncan Smith, Edward Leigh, Damien Hinds, Therese Coffey - that sort of demographic

It probably does on a case by case basis, as with any other group. As in sectarian voting exists even amongst Muslim people?
Upper middles classes then. Tunbridge Wells summer fete phalanx. Most of those are high Protestant instead, but there's a decent proportion that have remained Catholic since the ReformationThe British Establishment is a very narrow group to base voting figures on, most of the qualified population have been able to vote since 1928.
So they all voted in a bloc along religious lines?
It does explain why followers of the most supremely conservative hierarchical institution in the Western World would vote left wing - because they were told to!
Didn’t mean it just at Muslims but across all religionsIt probably does on a case by case basis, as with any other group.
But “the Muslim bloc” seemed to imply you were referring to Muslims as a group who would all have to vote the same way. Did I get that wrong?

So sectarian politics are imaginary? Probably more realistic than some of the tripe written in certain texts that are followedWhich is still a massive generalisation.

Here we go. I think you have. Enjoy.No. Lol you've missed the point totally again. You keep trying mate..
Leave it out. It’s pretty basic. But you don’t need to press me about my stance. You really do get more confused than many very easily. Especially saying that you don’t practice Islam yet observe fasting. Enjoy your Sunday.@Gazza you moaned about generalisations and then it was pointed out that had made them too. Then you pivoted to some other topic. You can read it back if you like.

Sectarianism in voting exists it’s that basic. That’s across all religions in varying degrees. It’s a very simple point. And if you think that’s quite sweeping then so be it. Boring.
It’s the internet columbo, I don’t think many people take it as seriously as you do.Also how come right wing bellends always have such poor spelling and grammar?
