Their first remit is to act within the confines of the law. Then if by the letter of the law a charge should be brought, the ‘is it in the public interest to bring this charge’ can come into play.
I don’t see what this has to do with this particular case though. The CPS looked at all the evidence, including the potential aggravating factors, including the actions of the police, and decided that it is right to bring charges. Public opinion did not need to play a part.

How do we know that without the clamour for a prosecution, that the same decision would have been reached?

Look at how the Met deal with the anti-Semite marches every week for an example of what the system does without the pressure.

Israel failed to intercept a missile fired by the Houthis today. Multiple attempts to shoot it down failed and it hit Tel Aviv although it appears to have hit a park and not killed anyone according to Israeli reports.

It was apparently a hypersonic ballistic missile.

And there you go.

In response to the west giving Ukraine long range ballistic missiles and allowing them to be fired into Russia, the Russians have clearly giving the Houthis missiles that cannot be easily intercepted by western air defence systems....

I'm generally calm and reserved on these things these days (less so years back). But the developments internationally are a worry to me now.

Houthis have been claiming to have hypersonic ballistic missiles since March and claim that one that landed outside Ben Gurion airport in September was hypersonic. Claims have been discredited until now.

Russia and Israel are friends. Its more likely….no its 100% likely that the missile came from Iran.
