Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

Oh that role has been groomed for some time to Richi, with Werner bought in for back up.

As for Hojberg, top pro and a good player who was always fit and available. An ever present for Conte and Mourinho who know a thing or two about CMs, MOTM against England coming up against the 'world class' Declan Rice, wanted by Atletico Madrid but priced out of a move - but yeah of course, all he does is point and shout. You don't have to think he's prime Makele, but some of the comments made here during his career are nothing short of embarrassing ....

I honestly don’t think anyone spacegoats Richarlison or Werner. Really nothing wrong with wanting better forwards than those two but the conventional wisdom on here seems to be that they’re good enough and we’re lucky to have them. I hope we sign at least one more forward personally.

He was the player we needed when we got him. Got stuck it and kept the ball moving.

He shows for Denmark that he is a good player in the right system. I hope he does well over there.

Totally agree. Although I like our new transfer policy, one thing that strikes me, is that all the recent signings, all seem a bit too nice! I think every team needs a couple of "nasty" players to keep up the intensity, and show the opposition that you don't fudge with us.
Can't see anyone in the squad now filling that role.
I'll let Romero know your assessment of him.

Bye.

I noticed vs QPR Bergvall likes to point at others to help him with the press, he was pointing where Son should run etc, so we have a natural successor for pointy man, after Keano and Hojbjerg

I don't see loan mentioned anywhere. I thought it was a straight up sale.
Its from that Ben Jacobs tweet, about 10 posts up

Does seem a bit early in the window though to have to resign ourselves to there being no better option than a loan.

That completely bypassed me, I only registered the Fabrizio Romano and SSN tweets.
Does seem strange but I suppose it eases Marseille's finances and Spurs then know they'll get the money next year and can plan accordingly.

Yeah I don't get this idea of a spacegoat. There's always going to be a player who is the weakest element of any side and obviously the correct course of action is to address your weakest aspect to improve your side. Otherwise what's the point exactly? Just keep players because we like their personalities even if they aren't able to deliver what we need on the pitch and let's be clear everyone our players have NOT delivered. We have no titles, no cups, not even semis recently so yes the team does need improving.

People talk about the players being too nice but it's our bloody fans who are soft. They fall in love with mediocre players and can't bare to move them on or improve upon them.

It’s rarely aimed at the right player though.

It’s not about the weakest player, it’s about who isn’t doing their job, for us in recent years I’d argue the issue was more the likes of Kane and Son not keeping their end up than players like Royal, Richie and PEH.
