OT: What next for Harry?

Can wait for Monday to see what this unappreciated tactical behemoth extraordinaire (at least according to some of his disciples on here) will serve up and all the classless wum digs at our club and chairman via his media pals.

I hope we fudging smash them to bits because should we fall victim to his unrivaled managerial genuis and mastermind, this thread would be unbearable and possibly fights would ensue

You don't have to.

The game has been brought forward to Saturday lunchtime.

Great suggestion

If we win, AVB bests Harry...lock this thread

If we lose, Harry is victorious... poetic justice and the harry haters avatars change

i am actually not sure what thats going to prove to anyone.

We have a better team or players, on better form and better confidence than QPR, we are EXPECTED to win...anything other than a win or draw would be considered by unbiased observers to be a shock a result

however on the other hand QpR have pressure of relegation, they know they are the under dogs and so will fight like there is no tomorrow ...their fans will be expecting a fighting display ....as such an easy walkover victory for tottenham is by no means guaranteed and would in all liklehood prove difficult.

Then there is the Harry v AVB situation, london derby.

how a result for either side proves anything about the other manager and his abilities to coach a team is confusing to me

"Whoever we would be playing I would be thinking about next week's league game," he said.

"We've got to pick up league points. I'll be flying all round the world to try to get one or two players if I can. That's the key. We need to improve the squad. I'll be doing everything I can to do that.

"We have to do business somewhere even if it's loans. We are short in certain areas. The team needs picking up."

Redknapp selected DJ Campbell against the Baggies following his prolific loan spell at Ipswich and he wishes the striker had returned to the club sooner.

"I've had seven or eight clubs in for DJ Campbell from the Championship," he said.

"He gives everything. I like him a lot as a lad. He has got a good attitude. He will be handy for us. I wish I had had him here a month ago."

Why? Walker was superior last season. I agreed with that decision personally

I agreed with the fact that Walker should be first choice, but for him to still be playing in our first team after he broke his toe, when we had a perfectly good player who could have played there if the manager had kept him happy?

It's things like that which can ruin the careers of young players.

I wouldn't worry about it. Players play with injuries all the time (Dembele is playing with one now for example) and they are only picked once a specialist advises they are fit to be picked. The one thing no Doctor or Manager can do much about is when players either lie about the pain or don't carry out the rehab they are meant to following an injury (which is actually the biggest reason a lot players are injury prone).

As much as I like Redknapp and want QPR to stay up, I hope we smash them on Saturday and boost our goal difference. No time for sentimentality.

Not fussed about Redknapp.

But i don't want QPR to stay up because they are a club that has taken the approach of throwing money at the problem and hoped it solves it.

Harry not helping himself in my books by saying things like: "The owner's deserve success because they've invested a lot of money in this club."

It's a pretty generic remark and I kinda agree with HR there. Better than Oyston at Blackpool who trousered double digit millions for the clubs stay in the EPL and did fudge all to keep them there.

I don't think any club "deserves" success, though I tend to feel that fans who pay a lot of money out of their own pockets through thick and thin for their club really do "deserve" more success than fans who win the lottery with a sugar-daddy owner (this is why I tolerate Arsenal succeeding more than Chelsea/City). After all, the former aren't paying out of their own pockets for the mega-signings they toss over and lord over other clubs' fans as if it were a personal accomplishment.

But the PL is a pretty harsh, unfair place. A lot of fans have sacrificed a ridiculous amount of time, money, and heartbreak for their team with nothing to show for it...that's why I think notions like 'deserving success' comes across as spoiled and Liverpool-esque. Owners have every right to *expect* success if they invest big, and every right to demand more from their investment, but that doesn't mean they deserve anything.

Just my two cents...

It's like saying Abramovich and Mansoor deserve success.

depends on thr capacity and motivation behind the money though isnt it

if the owners sunk a considerable amount of their own personal fortune and really felt they wanted to make a go of the club for the fans sake then yes they do 'deserve' some success.

they arent obligated to have it but for the amount they are willing to risk at their own personal expense plus their reasons for doing so...you would hope that they got it. No?

I said and hoped they would get relegated at the beginning of the season, remember a few years back when all that money came into the club and there were those bricking themselves about another club who were going to blow us out of the water with the ability to spend.

LOL you'll find anything :)

No, I won't. I've never hidden my dislike for Redknapp, the person. Still has nothing to do with his managerial stint at Spurs.

Having a rich owner means they're more deserving tham other clubs?

IMO that's cheating and makes them less deserving. Just like City and Chelsea deserve fudge all, apart from relegation maybe.
