OT: What next for Harry?

True, but on the other hand, there aren't many cheaper DMs around who can do a better job than he can.

For what it's worth, I think he will be sold, if Harry and QPR pony up a good enough offer. Levy will not turn down good money for an ageing player with diminishing value. But I'd rather we kept him around. The guy sets an example, if nothing else.

He's not much value in the treatment room.

It is going to be interesting how Redknapp does at QPR. I think our form got badly affected from January due to his illness, court case and link with England. Let's see if he has overcome all that.I wonder how Tarrabt will feel about Redknapp after not getting chance under him at Spurs.

I read an interview with him in the standard last year where he was very complimentary about Redknapp. He criticised Ramos for freezing him out and not talking to him. He said that Redknapp was up front with him and talked him into moving to QPR because it would be good for his career and that Warnock would be a good manager for him. I'll see if I can find it.

Harry Redknapp believes David Beckham could still play in the Premier League and has not ruled out trying to sign the former England captain for QPR.

Beckham, 37, is leaving Los Angeles Galaxy in December and has been linked with a move to the Hoops since Redknapp took over as
manager on Saturday.

Redknapp told BBC Radio 5 live's Sportsweek programme: "I'm sure he could still play in the Premier League.

"I've not discussed it with the chairman so we'd have to look at that."

Redknapp tried to sign Beckham on loan in January 2011 when he was manager at Tottenham but the midfielder was only able to train with the north London club.

"He's a top fantastic player," continued Redknapp. "We had him training at Tottenham and it was amazing [to have him] round the place. He is absolute class.

"David could still be a great asset to anyone. Just having him round the place, showing people how to train and look after yourself. His professionalism is second to none."

Asked on his way into training if this was the toughest job he had taken on, Redknapp told Sky Sports: "It probably is yes, because we've only got four points from 13 games. I don't think it gets much tougher than that.

"It will be difficult but we'll see how we go. We'll give it our best shot and you can't do any more than that. If the players do their best, then we've got a chance."

Asked if Bond would be joining him, Redknapp added: "Yes. We'll be sorting that out this morning.

"We're ready to throw ourselves into it. We'll have a loosener this morning and then we'll start getting ready for the game on Tuesday."

Chairman Tony Fernandes has been busy with his Formula One team Caterham and Redknapp confirmed he has not spoken much with his new boss.

"I think he's in Malaysia or Brazil," said Redknapp. "He phoned and left a message last night but I had gone to bed by then."

Here it is. A little different than I remembered it but the gist is the same. An interesting insight into our club too.

And so it begins ...

Redknapp's first game is away to Sunderland....his teams have a good record against O'Neil sides, isnt it something like 11 or 12 games unbeaten

"QPR is my team now, my grandkids are all getting QPR kits this week. I want to keep QPR in the Premier League. If the players try as hard as me, we will be successful.

"There are nice people who own this club who deserve success. They spent money in the summer and have invested in the club, and that for me was important. When I met them, I knew what I was coming to. I think they found it very hard to let Mark (Hughes) go, that is for sure.

"I was very close to the Ukraine. It was a fantastic offer and I had meetings with them in London, it was a great chance for me but this came up and I decided the Premier League was where I wanted to be. If this had not come up on Friday, I would have taken the (Ukraine) job on a four-year deal."

That's what's wrong with both Redknapp and football in a nutshell.

He's going to try and sign Beckham in January or say that he's trying.

And only 5 days later . . . . :ross:

Harry Redknapp would be interested in signing David Beckham for QPR

Last Updated: November 25, 2012 4:21pm

Redknapp watched Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Manchester United from the stands and took training for the first time on Sunday morning after being installed as Mark Hughes' replacement.

QPR have taken only four points from their opening 13 fixtures and Redknapp has admitted there is no cash in the kitty to sign reinforcements during the January transfer window.

That points to a move for Beckham, who is preparing to leave Los Angeles Galaxy and would be a free agent, although his wages would likely be very expensive.

"I'm sure he could still play in the Premier League," said Redknapp. "He is a top player and a fantastic person.

"We had him at Tottenham training and he was amazing around the place, absolute class.

"I haven't discussed it with the chairman (Tony Fernandes) at the moment so we'd have to look at that.

"But David could still certainly be a great asset to anybody, showing people how to train, how to look after yourself. His professionalism is second to none."

I like Harry-but as somebody else's manager, not Spurs. Whenever any of my mates or workmates told me how great he was for Spurs I always asked if they wanted him as their manager.
Guess how many replied in the affirmative.
