i've said this before about others and been wrong, but when Janssen gets one, he'll get loads

you can see he's an instinctive finisher

i'm in love with him already
 
Onomah makes his impact on the game.

I remember reading the Youth threads for year after year about this guy being the next big thing... I really want him to come good to justify my interest over the last few years .... but ... but .. but .

But.
 
Not trying to bash a young player, but another Onomah performance where he does nothing. What makes it worse it that he just strolls around the place which gives the impression he's not trying. He deserves to slip behind others in the pecking order

Yes but what I mean is, 99% of shots that are wide, go wide.

Beat your man, then just get it on target. Make the keeper work. He is a Trabant. He is a Ssangyong. We are Mercedes. Mow him down. Get it on target, make him try to rebuff it. Don't just kick it off the pitch.

Eriksen's shot was straight at him but he was nowhere near it (that is some special skill).

We are massively in charge; like playing the local middle school. 107% possession. A massive chance for some to score. Yet... 1-0, a dodgy set piece and bingo bango we're right back in the mire.

Come on, just kick shots on target.

Kick the ball. At. The goal.

I borrowed a ssanyong for a bit during a period of awful weather, I didn't want to give it back, that thing was bullet proof

all mercedes parts under the bonnet i believe
 
Onomah has done ok. He has been good at setting colleagues up and like Carroll et Winks, playing the controlling tidy ball in midfield. Janssen seems to be more of a hold-up striker from what I can see.
 
Incredible that we've only scored a goal. Janssen should've scored, but I think he's been good regardless, getting into positions constantly, great lay offs and play with his team mates. I reckon he'll score in the second half.
Winks looking nice and tidy, but playing it a bit too safe too often so far.
Great goal by Eriks, who's been bossing it.

I think Onomah's been pretty decent. Been involved quite a lot, moving well. Still lacks a bit of oomph about him though, seems a bit weak at times, maybe cus he's so young.
 
Well.

You cant fault the build-up play and ball retention, but our finishing? I was going to call it shocking, but Eriksen's two efforts upgrade it to sub-standard.

If we employ a shooting coach, that is exactly what he needs!

Why it stays a 1-0 it is still uneasy. Janssen got better as the half went on and surely must find the net tonight as his efforts are gradually getting nearer
 
That was extremely one sided. At least from the moment I found a stream after 18 minutes. I am getting tired of how wasteful we are now. We need to slot in a few goals in the second half. Janssen will score. I am sure of it. He is playing well, just needs to find the finishing touch.
