****OMT - TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR VS Saudi Sportswashing Machine *********

Speaking of things Sherwood has "undone"

Thawing Adebayor from the AVB freezer

Making Eriksen the main man in his position even though he didn't pick him tonight

Our inability to score goals

We were pretty close when he took over.

I think opinion of the situation we were in (and therefore how much he needed to do) was overly influenced by a couple of big losses. In hindsight, those losses weren't as bad as they seemed - Woolwich got bummed by Liverpool and everyone's been bummed by City.

Still, at least he's put everything back together again - if he can just leave it alone until the summer we might do well.

I agree ...The two away wins versus Fulham and Sunderland told us that things weren't so bad on the pitch and would only improve. The players seem happier playing with the extra man in midfield and of course Adebayor , who wasn't an option for AVB, plays the lone striker role better than Soldado.

no, they were **** against chelsea, and woeful against sunderland, who are also ****

i'm very pleased we've won 4-0 but not euphoric as I expect the dippers were when they tanked us and arsenal

we're better, but we are still not where we need to be

And you think that is the benchmark for how we should judge the team at present oh and judge Tim? Its called progression, you simply cannot click fingers and hope it will work. You can see some thought is going on i.e. high line? play Kabs - makes sense. Old regime, high line? lets play Capoue and Daws haha.

This is progress and that for me is all that matters.

You forgot to add playing a striker who is essentially a poacher, starve him of service and get no one else into the box to support him.

You know that I was behind AVB and I would have given him the season (unless his relationship with Levy and Baldini was broken in which case he had to go) but how many fluid performances did we put in in the first half of this season? I am struggling to think of one.

AVB reverted to 4-4-2 in the first half of last season when the players struggled with his preferred formation. I fail to see how that is progressive but Sherwood doing the same is regressive.

who's judging?

seriously have I said something to offend you somewhere?

Because one is foreign and looks the part regardless of results and the other is a ****ney wide boy and one of Arry's mates, keep up.

Great game today! Saudi Sportswashing Machine were ****, of course, but we bossed them completely. On our few slip-ups Lloris was just excellent. Bentaleb - what a player! Young player of the year for us already, no doubt! :) Just wish I had put those money on us winning 4-0, as I read just before the game that Saudi Sportswashing Machine had lost their last home games 1-0, 2-0, 3-0. Oh, well, so much for being a skeptic!:p

Hats of to Timmy of course, I think people will have a hard time criticizing him for being a simpleton tactics-wise after our last few games.

yeah fair play to spaceman!!!!! he nailed it!!!!!!

4-0 and were still banging on about Andre......lol

watching the extended highlights and I cant remember us looking as fluent as this so far this season.

loving the kabs & Verts partnership.......its the perfect cb blend in my opinion.....lol & just when you think perhaps bentaleb should sit out he starts looking the part!!!

Timmy came across so assured and confident pre-match talking about the line-up changes...looks like timmys confident demeanour is rubbing off on the players!

Hands up time for those that overreacted when the teams were announced

Hands up from me. Really didn't like this selection or formation. However, Massive credit to TS - I told all you cynics to give TS time before rushing to judge him. TS knows you know.

I think we've been waiting for all the new players to settle down in the country/league/team. The general consensus is 6 months for that kind of thing and that's what it seems to have taken.

I don't think AVB was any less wrong than Timmeh was to have played the wrong formation - at least AVB had previously shown he could get it right though.

Timmeh's put it back together though. With the added advantages of being able to play Ade and a more settled group of players, hopefully we can finish the season strongly.

Our most fluent display under AVB was against Saudi Sportswashing Machine at home, it wasn't brilliant but the best we played under him. Never did we deserve to lose that game.

I worried at half time that we would struggle to get more goals with Ade always dropping deep and us subsequently lacking anyone in the box to cross to. Second half and we got the numbers in there, Paulinho especially did well in this respect and got a goal as his just deserts.
