Cabaye is superb. I'd take him in a heartbeat as Modders replacement. 20 mil should be more than enough if they are willing to sell at all. But why would they? They're building a great team.

In Tiote and Cabaye they have a fearsomely good midfield duo who both want to stay at the club. They'd be fools to sell.

Modric , Adybayor and Levy (the Spurs board) have all put me on a downer these past few weeks so I find myself, not up for this opening fixture like I should be . I can't ever recall feeling like this for our first game of a new season .
Can't believe there's not a 10 million pound striker out there that we could've bought in and we only have, Defoe and the inexperience of Kane to rely on . Dos Santos wants out too .
One way or another, Levy and the board just can't seem to hand the manager a decent pre season. It's happened a few times of late.

People saying we are under-prepared pre-season wise..
I cant work this out, especially as under Harry it was one session tops, under AVB its been two and sometimes three sessions a day..
Fitness wise we 100% wont be under prepared thats for sure

I've absolutely no doubt Jenas and Livermore will start today. I wish I could put a bet on it somewhere.
AVB will be after a disciplined defensive performance with lots of pressing in midfield. So no Huddlestone and he wont play Sandro til he is up to speed tactically.

We've hardly had a bad preseason? The squad is as good as its ever been. We are 2 players off being perfect. The coaching staff had had a FULL Pre season to prepare the team. Probably far more contact than saint Harry would have spent with them. Are you a menopausal woman? I mean seriously. The team that plays should be well prepared. You could argue that adding Sandro would make it less well prepared.
Whether it is good enough is a different question. I think it should be good enough to get a draw, as Saudi Sportswashing Machine have problems of their own. And I think everyone would agree that its not good enough to get fourth. Then again, it won't be the first choice team when September comes.

I agree to an extent. If we make no more signgings this window then I will probably join in with the doom-sayers (is that a word?) But at the moment the only real difference from last season in terms of players is that we have to play Defoe instead of Adebayor and (ideally) Huddlestone instead of Modric. So it's a backward step, but not tht end of the world.
Saying that, it has been a rather underwhelming preseason / transfer window in the end, and I am feeling anxious about the season ahead...
