Wednesdays performance was so inexplicably bad I would have expected Conte and some senior players to come out and apologise. Instead, Conte says that he can't blame the effort and commitment of the players. Well if he can't, I certainly can!

Hardly a challenge was made all game, United looked fitter, faster, sharper and more up for it all game. They were first to the ball and better than us at competing all over the pitch. Only Hugo came out of that game with any self respect intact. The rest - including Conte, who never changed anything and again was far too late with his subs - were totally at fault and let us all down badly. A massive improvement all round is called for on Sunday. Anything less is totally unacceptable.

PS those protecting themselves for the World Cup should be ashamed.

How can you be sure? He doesn't seem to emit any remorse at all. The players have "got away with it" from him against Chelsea, Arsenal West Ham and now Man U. There doesn't seem to be any consequences from Conte and no examples set for others that if you don't perform you are dropped. It should be that simple.
 
Watching the Chelsea v United game, Potter realised United were dominating and so took off Cuccuraca and changed formation after just 35 minutes.Chelsea went on to dominate the second half. Conte please watch and learn.

Easy to say. We have no info. What is he doing behind the scenes? He has to manage them through an awful stretch of games. I think saying they should hurt like him after defeats like that is a big slap personally.

I think AC is having a tough time without Ventrone myself.

You can't just pick the good bits to try and make a point.

Of course I can. His substitution and formation change completely altered the course of the game - irrespective of the result.

I am sure he is missing Ventrone but he can't use that as an excuse for things that happened before his passing. His tactics, in game management and too late subs have been a theme all season long - especially when things aren't going well.

We are 3rd. We have lost twice all season. He hasn't used anything as an 'excuse', I was the one speculatively offering some overall context. In fact, from what I've seen of the man, he'd be appalled if he thought I was trying to offer him one!

i do want us to start on the front foot though and get a goal or two early on to control the game

Disappointed in his comments that he feels we have to go 3-5-2. I get that he is a top coach, it really does feel like he lacks imagination at times and always plays it safe with the handbreak on. Oh well, I’m still fully on board the Conte train….
