No way- case could be made for that being so when Wanyama first arrived but he has steadily improved - very little in it afaic and with Wanyama you are less likely to see him fudge up simple passes/getting caught in possession/float aimless balls forward to no one

That's not a reason to swap him for a defensive player

Just had a belief Wanyama might have played this one to help screen Salah and Mane, and with Dier's serious bobo, in hindsight I wish Wanyama had played.

He doesn't screw up as much but he doesn't read the game in an attacking sense nearly as well.

Wanyama is a solid passer in the sense that he makes the ball go where he wants it to, but he doesn't choose the most beneficial pass nearly as often as Dier

Wanyama's great defensively but we need to be good on the ball

Dier is crap on the ball. His passing is poor and the worst part about it is he thinks he can play but fudges it up and puts us in trouble with his poor passing. Wanyama is a much much better footballer.
