***OMT Tottenham Hotspur Vs Leicester City (FA Cup)***

Eriksen was very poor. Chadli was rusty. Onomah was raw. It was our AM that was ineffective for me

Main positives were Rose, Wimmer and Bentaleb.
And Carroll, he was excellent while he was on. I thought Wimmenbauer was great, and Onomomomomah good too, as good as Njie anyway.

Disappointing result, but obviously a relief to get the equaliser in the end and get another opportunity to stay in the tournament. It feels like we gave it away today though. We were completely dominant, at least in the first half, but we just couldn't take advantage. Same story as against Everton last week, and it's something we need to work on.

First of all, we need to create more chances and get more goals when we are as dominant as we were today. We had 75% of the possession, but I think Eriksen's goal was the only clear cut chance we actually created. That's simply not good enough. I think it's been a problem under Pochetino in general, and attacking against teams that sit deep should be next thing we look to improve on if we are to take the next step.

Secondly, when we do dominate as much as we did today, we must also make sure we stay focused at the back when the opposition has a rare attack. For the second week running, we conceded the first time the opponent got anywhere near our box. It's quite incredibe that we managed to concede twice today, and both goals were down to a lack of focus at the back.

Basially we played well in between the two penalty boxes, we were poor where it really matters.

As for the handball, that is a clear penalty for me. It is a conscious movement of the arm, and he pushes the ball away from the attacker (Rose). A handball doesn't have to be intentional for it to be a foul. It is down to the position of the arm in relation to the body, and players have to take responsibility for where they place their arms. I heard a Norwegian referee explain this on tv a while back, and you would think he would know. I don't know why everyone talks about intention anyway. It has never been the case that a handball has to be intentional for it to be a foul. If that was the case, there would hardly ever be a penalty for handball.

I agree with a lot of you it was harsh, Dyer put his arm out to hold off Rose and inadvertently pushed the ball instead. The problem I have is that Dyer gained an advantage in doing so as without that touch Rose would've been sending a cross into the box, so in that sense it's a foul.

As for the game itself. I thought our shape went to brick in the second half as we failed to deal with the extra striker and got worse as soon as Dier and Carroll were bought off. Eriksen was ok for me, still not up to what we expect but looked better. He is trying struggling to find his feet in this new role (right AM for a lot of the game) so I can kind of understand it, but the corners were aweful. I thought Onomah looked good in the opening 15 when in the left sided AM spot but faded thereafter when he was played central and Chadli was moved left. Chadli himself had a decent game but was rubbish when working the ball around in midfield when dropping deep.

Kane and Bentaleb weren't all that effective though I think Poch kept Son at #9 and asked Kane to play a different role when he came on, playing deeper than usual.

Half decent result I guess, our 2nd string will get another game I guess.

I take the blame for their 2nd goal.

Whenever I watch from home, I update my goalscorer list at HT if we have scored. Today forget to update Eriksen's total and they score right away.

Realised I hadn't done it, got back on the laptop and did it, within TWO minutes we get a penalty. Coincidence....I think not ;)
Well, I was to blame too. In fact I am pretty much always to blame if we don't win. I have so many superstitions about things I need to do and not to before and during Spurs games, that it's very difficult to get them all right. So I end up blaming myself most of the time if we don't win.

We dominated possesion today, but hardly created any real good chances. Our first goal was a lucky break to Eriksen but Chadli did get open to get a shot in. And our penalty was dubious at best. Without Alli and Kane we look void of real ideas. We are crying out for a player that can take people on, shift defences arouned and open space for others. Today all our forwards just wanted to play it out wide or to the side. They never took on their man.

I know its only one game. But Son is not a lead the line striker. He is a number 10 or a wide man. He looked lost up their against an organised defence. He needs to get the ball in space so he can run at a man. As a long forward he cannot do this. We badly badly need an alternative to Kane. Even a low level strike like Anichebe or so, a battering ram up front would help us more to rest Kane that playing Son in that position.

Eriksen has looked off for a while now. Todays his Corners were Diabolical, and so were his free kicks. Yes he got a goal but that was it. He needs to be dropped for a while. Vorm never fills me with confidence and Chadli did nothing. For all our possesion and some good play at times we lacked a focal point and were carrying too many players.

It was a handball, I think he pushed it away too... so there was some intent in my eyes. Corners were pony.... thought Trippier did OK... cdrtainly didn't deserve to lose that game!

When he plays I dont think its a bad shout to let Trippier take the corners, seems to have decent cross on him, and lets face it, cant be worse than Eriksen, surley?

It was the AM trio not turning possession into chances. Son got bugger all service; though his runs were intelligent

Congratulations KoN, you and PaxtonWolf (aka northernmonkeyspur) have the brain of a pigeon!

If that's the case I stand corrected but i could have sworn they have been saying arms away from the body = penalty, see it given all the time - maybe it's a case of them interpreting these situations as deliberate?

that's one of those commentators fallacies, like daylight for offside

Eriksen was excellent in the first half. Ran the show for me. Some lovely passing. In the second half, he was not as good, but we started poorly as a team and lost our shape with the substitutions.

Not sure how Rose was a positive. Yes, he made some good runs forward, but his delivery was always tinkle poor. He is also incredibly thick. I reckon his IQ is lower than his shirt number (Alli is no genius either btw). When he gets frustrated, he starts commiting free kick and kills the time we need to get a goal. He did the same stuff against Watford, including pretending he was injured was for a while, when he just needed to get up and get the game going again. He has taken great strides, but he still annoys the hell out of me at times. He is not performing as consistently well as he did last season either.

Not sure what Bentaleb did do be considered a positive either.

Wimmer, however, did look decent. Encouraging to know that we have a center back who can step in if required.

How's this for Bias? "Just what every neutral fan would want...a Leicester goal." WTF, how is that neutral? I also think the camera work on football has gone backwards. It's shaky, often out of focus and the what's with the camera panning the crowd, focusing on supporters or subs when the ball's in play. Truly, someone should be sacked, it's that bad!

Intentional ..... but how can you tell what someone is thinking.

He was reaching, and touched the ball .... so ref concludes it was deliberate as it looks that way from hs angle.
