OMT *** Tottenham Hotspur vs Fiorentina***

Yellow for what...? Bloody cheating bastards.

Good result though, shame about that conceeded goal, but you can't say they didn't deserve it.

Bloody bunch of diving bastards!

I remember how, back in the early '90s, English teams just failed miserably in European competition, and today's performance from Fiorentina and the match officials puts me in mind of that. The ref bought absolutely everything. Let's see how they do it with WHL in full voice.

I'd have taken 1-1 before the match. COYS!

Will take that.
Just a small shame we didnt close out a 1-0 for an 8th win on the trot. But 6 away games in the last 7. If you would have told me we would stay unbeaten in all of them, let alone win 6, I would have bitten your arm off.

Big chance to progress now and I would say, not too tiring for Sunday, 3rd gear for most of the night

Really mediocre, laboured performance there. Hopefully it wasn't a sign of fatigue.

However, the referee really didn't help. He blew his whistle at the sign of any contact and we really couldn't get going.

Bigger picture - 1-1 is a good result. On to Palace.

Not as good second half for us, but I suppose it was to be expected that Fiorentina would pick it up a bit. Particularly after they got the goal....

Quite a lot of things to point a finger at from us today, but an away draw, an away goal, one very solid half and not troubled too much defensively even when they did put us under pressure. Decent enough, on to the next one.

And Italians wonder why they are tarred with the cheating tag. If I had to watch that sh't every week I would take up Golf

I only saw the last 20 minutes, from what i saw, we did a good job of securing the draw. 1-1 is a good result imo.

I was nowhere near in my team prediction tonight, but pleased to see some rotation. Good to have Mason back.

I certainly feel there will be a bit of fatigue as the season goes on, but it will come down to mentality. Others will be just as tired, and I feel this is where our attention to detail could give us the edge (a little extra fitness, the GD)...big positive tonight is Mason getting a full game under his belt. Will be a vital player in the run-in IMO, and although he was (for me) too slow closing down on the goal, I put it down to rustiness and would much much rather he got 90 here, 45 on Sunday and 90 in the return leg to bring him right back to speed...

Spot on about Mason.

On the plus side, we were solid defensively again tonight. They didn't have any real chances bar the Bernardeschi one in the first half.

Absolutely dominated them in the first half.

Second half they got back into it after their deflected goal and they grew in confidence and started believing... Not surprising. But we stood our ground and got back in the game and it was pretty much an even second half overall. Away from home, EL game, quite a few changes to the team and up against a team that's 3rd in Italy I don't think that's a sign of fatigue at all. Also a game that the players, like us fans, wouldn't have been 100% fired up for.

Son seems to be struggling a bit to find his form, Mason a bit rusty as can be expected.

Yeah I mean the fact that I have come away from this disappointed is a sign of just how far we've come.

Having dominated them in the first half, as you rightly stated, I was disappointed that we couldn't create more clear-cut chances. Reminded me of the City game in that regard.

Not a bad game by any means though.

I only saw the second half, Fiorentina were compact and put pressure on us when we had possession. They were lucky with the deflected goal, thought we dealt with their pressure well, and put pressure on them too,and swarmed when we lost the ball.

Didn't feel like we were pushing ourselves too much, they were doing their usual Italian foul antics to break up momentum and try to unsettle our players. Good experience.

I'm happy taking a draw and moving on.

Good result with a starting team that only had 3 of our first 11.
It's a shame we didn't go for the historic 8 wins in a row.
Fiorentina really responded to their crowd in the second half in the same way City did on Sunday.
We could have secured the tie in the first half.

Player performance wise Chadli was poor. Trippier was really bad defensively at times, he really needs Dier helping him out if he plays.
