I don't agree. We can't just excuse awfulness because it looks like we are 'having a go'. Let's just call it what it is, it's rubbish. We've had a shocking 25 minutes.

That would be true whether we are trying to play AVBs style or Tim's.
 
i really dont think bentaleb is up to this yet. looks tidy but since hes come into the team we havent had a grip in midfield for three matches against 3 different oppositions now.

if we're going to play 442 it defintely shouldnt be this four.

throw in weak players like rose, dawson and possibly vlad in defence and its not unfathomable whats happening here.
 
If we don't want to run the channels, or look for the through ball, how about trying a ****ing shot from outside the box?

Problem is we are clearly carrying two passengers at the moment. Ade and bobby are not in the game. Christian cannot get on the ball and we are getting outnumbered.

Any performance starts with possession.
