OMT ***Tottenham Hotspur v West Bromwich Albion***

I'd settle for a point here, tbh. Pulis seems to have our number.

-------------------------------Lloris------------------------------

Walker------------Toby----------------Jan-------------Davies

------------------------------Wanyama--------------------------

Lamela-----------Eriksen--------Dembele (if fit)/Alli-----Son

-------------------------------Janssen---------------------------

Subs: Vorm, Dier, Rose (if fit)/Trippier, Sissoko, Winks, Onomah, N'Koudou

Justifications -

Dembele in the attacking midfield 'four' over Alli - the formation we've recently adopted seems, at first glance, to be sort of ill-fitted for Dembele's bursts from deep, but I feel like his ability to retain possession in tight spaces will be more useful against Pulis' ten men on the goalline than Alli's moves into space (of which there will likely be little). Plus, it would help prevent breakaways, and might result in creating space for the other three AMs if (as is usually the case when he plays deeper) two or three of West Brom's midfielders lose discipline and go in on him to try to win the ball.

Janssen over Son up front - Son up front worked well against City, on our turf, but I put Janssen in there just because I'd like to see him muscle West Brom's defenders about a bit - they'll definitely do it to us, so might as well leave the elbow in a bit form our side as well. :p

1-1, Wanyama with a blooter and some troglodyte bundling in a (sadly) deserved equaliser for them after a period of long-ball pressure.

Edit: Sorry, forgot Chadli's going to be playing for them! 1-1, Wanyama with a blooter for us and Chadli with a magnificent, slaloming run and finish to equalize for them, *after* which he gets mobbed by his neanderthal team-mates. :)

Hmmm, a big indicator for the season for me.
I believe we have won in every season under Poch when we have faced the league leaders at the time they have visted:
- Chelski 5-3 on NYD 2015
- Emirates Marketing Project 4-1 last season and 2-0 this one

After all those games we dropped points in the following league games; you can bet any money Pulis will have been preparing his team almost like never before to be the first to beat us in the league and be licking his lips at the big kudos he will get (and dine on for months afterwards), esp as he'll likely be out of the job in a few months.

If Spurs can buck the usual "after the Lord Mayor's show" tendancies and actually win, then i might look at going to the bookies to lay a bet on us for the title!

My heart says 3-2 to us, but head says 1-1

Good post. I don't see us getting beat, but we don't tend to win when/if we have the chance to go top/top 4 or immediately after winning such a big game as you pointed out.

Having seen a bit of WBA they had nothing to scare us other than parking the bus...

But they have a half decent record gains us in reality an there not scared of anyone IMO

They may try to get physical with us which would suit

Id certainly go with the team @Gutter Boy suggested as I think its the right one of this game

I'll take any result, as long as we win. Which we will.

Minimal changes from City, but I don't think Son will be as effective as a #9 against bus parkers, as opposed to when there was space round the back.

I see you still don't rate Eriksen!!!!!

I think Rose needs a rest to ensure he is 100% fit for future games ( he looked like he was saving himself in the England games).

I would rotate a bit for this likely battle and go:

..........Lloris..........

Trippier...Toby...Verts...Davies

.........Wanny......Dembele....

Lamela.........Eriksen........Son

................VJ...................

Bring back Walker, Rose, Dier and Alli for the midweek game.

Would love to win this game against Pulisball, but would settle for a draw.

We need Lamela, Eriksen, Janssen and Alli to chip in with some goals. If one or more do, we'll win comfortably. 4 players who should tuck a few more away. But not one of them over 24 so we have to give them time.

Would really like to beat these.

It was really the result against them at home that saw the beginning of the end of our Championship winning aspirations last year.
