*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v The Cottagers ***

But they still haven’t played anywhere near as many games as us
You keep going back to that point. It's not relevant, as playing a lot of games is not causing our CBs' injuries. The fact remains that Bournemouth's CBs have played more games than ours this season and have remained up to this point injury free. Now it could be that ours CBs are particularly injury prone. It could also be that Iraola's system is not as physically demanding on the CBs as Ange's.

its relevant because it’s why their CBS haven’t got injured
You talked about the games they played and I highlighted they are playing once a week

Bedford, we played one game per week last season and we still got injuries constantly. This season we’ve played too many games, last season we didn’t play enough. I’m curious what the magic number is in terms of games played before we stop making excuses.

But they still haven’t played anywhere near as many games as us
And haven’t been playing twice a week
That the facts

Outside of league games Romero and VDV played 1 EL game before getting injured (not in squad or unused sub in the others) ...and only the Emirates Marketing Project league cup game at home.

Id say those facts align almost identically to the Bournemouth CH pair up to that point?

Can’t have
Huijsen didnt make his full debut until they played us according to the match reports

What I don't understand is why our rebuild is special and that it means that we should be ok with potentially ending the season in 15th.

Every manager at every club when he comes in oversees one, turnover of playing staff and tactical changes, I've never known it to be an acceptable reason for a team to drop 9/10 places in the league.
For some reason there's a bit of a cult around him and it's so strange he hasn't actually anything to deserve that level of devotion.

I like Ange I respect what he's trying to do, it's a style of football I agree with but he's not very good at reading the room and understanding what is actually possible. He's as deluded as some of our fans and that is the source of his downfall.

He had. And the Ukrainian fella played from the start of the season.

Besides .The point is our CH were not playing 2 games a week up to the point of being injured. So you can add that information to the discussion.

That is excellent analysis. You could see lads weren't working throughout the game (well, in the second half, I didn't see the first).

They've highlighted some great points on the first goal. Odobert was made to look bad by Solanke's, Son's and Spence's laziness (albeit he didn't exactly bust a nut himself to get back). I didn't pick that up at the time. I was fuming at how their lad got a shot in with so many of our players around him. But watching Bergvall...I like the kid but that's absolutely disgraceful and unprofessional from him.

Spence, and even Gray, on the second goal are also unprofessional by not getting back around. They just left Davies looking stupid.

Too many of our players not doing the basics and being unprofessional. The senior lads, like Son and Maddison, get the most stick for it but in those clips Bergvall, Gray, Spence, Odobert and Tel are also very culpable.

When one or two do it, it's on them. When pretty much the whole team is behaving like that...the issue goes deeper.

So who’s to blame here?
For me that’s the winger not doing his job
The thing is...it looked so much easier in the week when the wide man cuts in and your speedy FB just overlaps and Son slides it to him. Easier because your wide man drags their FB in hence creating the space for Spence

What is the pattern of play meant to be with the way we normally play (as you highlighted above)?

I think they know, mentally, they need to save themselves for the games to come
See it a lot and players play within themselves
The manager has to manage that but few succeeed

For me
That’s Sonny taking the ball into the least effective area of the pitch and taking too many touches
It’s a common theme with us and why we never break down low blocks

You know what, as a fan, I can't accept that. I never do the "I pay your wages" routine but I invest a lot emotionally and financially in the club like many others. If players think they can just show up and not do the basics, by choice, that's not acceptable.

Play brick, that happens. But what was highlighted in that clip is just beyond unacceptable. I do put a lot of blame on the manager but the players should also have a long, hard look in the mirror. They're being unprofessional and all the "we learn from this and we go again" statements mean dingdong all when you see this.

I play over-35s. It's as much a social thing as a competitive exercise but if I did that in training, let alone a competitive game, I'd be slaughtered. And rightly so.

I’m the same
I work as hard when I played at every level
It’s why teams wanted me. If I’d the donkey work and harassed like a fudger
And fans shouldn’t have to accept it, but it doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen
What was interesting was Eddie Howe saying he played a different way vs poor on the league (sacrifice) to not have them know how he was gonna play in the cup
Lineker said he did something similar vs forest in the league when we played them before the cup final

We so often really look like a team that isn't sure of who's doing what and when and who's meant to be where and when.

That then leads to a lack of fluidity and a look of disjointedness.

We are weird as we certainly put the effort in BUT much of it is so misplaced.

That's my observation...why any of this is like it is, is the other endless debate.

My hunch is ....this group of players could be much better as a collective.

See a decent team in that situation would as Sonny dribbles in...would lay it to Spence who would slide it first time to Madders on the left in that massive space the team had created with their movement.

And I don't even think that's hard to execute

Could be, maybe
I’m not sure some have the legs for it or the basic skill set
