Finally the bench is beginning to look a touch stronger with better options
The UEFA site says if either Spurs or los otros hombres (so easy when you speak 11 languages) win tonight, they clinch qualification to the knock out round.
I don't quite understand. Say Spurs win (SPURS WIN!!). And Dortmund win, too. That gives us 10 points, RM 7 and Dortmund 4.
All three teams would have two games remaining. It's possible if we lost both, Dortmund won both and RM beat Apoel, we'd all end up on 10 points. So how would a tie be broken that would allow UEFA to declare the winner tonight is through?
Anyone got any views on the strength of our bench?
Can we put up a poll?Anyone think our bench is strong?
Because in the results between us and Real we'd win the tiebreaker, by virtue of our draw away and win at home. Vice versa if Real wins.
Which means, if we win tonight and the other results go the way you assumed, Real would play Europa League.

Back to the 343 where we have played our best attacking football of the last 3 years.
Kane Alli and Eriksen all close together.
We've changed the formation around before to allow for injuries in midfield and Alli's suspension.
But with the emergence of Winks we can go back to our best formation.
As for Real they play a 4312 which will give Tripper and Davies with no wide player to watch. They are the ones with the freedom to take the game to Real for us.
Strong enough to hold Sissoko plus 6 normal sized adults? The Guardian blogger also believes that it is...not weak.
"Mauricio Pochettino sprung a few surprises when Tottenham visited the Bernabeu a fortnight ago. Not tonight, though. Tottenham are as expected and the big news is that Harry Kane is fit to start after recovering from the hamstring problem that kept him out against Manchester United, meaning that Son Heung-Min drops to the bench. Kieran Trippier replaces Serge Aurier, Davinson Sanchez comes in for Moussa Sissoko and Dele Alli makes his first start in Europe this season after returning from a three-match ban. The bench is strong."

Duh, that's correct. If we beat Real and lose to Dortmund and Dortmund beats Real, we'd have 7 points, Real would have 7 points and Dortmund would have 6 points. So Real doesn't miss out on qualification in this scenario. The results of us and RM aren't enough to decide.
It would be a three-way (ooh, Mmmatron) tie between us, RM and Dortmund. All on 10 points. It can't be just about the results between us and RM. Dortmund would have to have beaten both us and RM to claim 10 points. They factor into the deciding equation somehow.
Anybody? Bueller? Bueller?
Agree with your final point. Flip side is that they’ll out number is centrally if we’re not careful

It's a strong bench. With strength (even though they appear to be individual seats these days).Anyone got any views on the strength of our bench?
It would be an extra-strong bench in that instance. Can we put up a poll?
And that's without Wanny and Lamela.
