+++OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool+++

cant believe that MOTD did not even analyze that potential penalty. There is no difference between that and VDV against palace. The football gods are just playing with us at the moment. Giving it agianst us one week then not giving it for us the following week. Its fukkked up.
Absolutely. How on earth is that not a pen? Regardless of whether Richi could get a shot off, he was clearly impeded. FFS.

I want to echo a lot of the sentiments on here and what was said on the pod.

Showed real effort and spirit, fought for everything. Also showed, more in moments, quality. Really well done and feels like it could be a turning point, but we won't know that until more games come around. But some reasons to look forward to upcoming games rather than dreading them.

Massively important point too.

Most important thing for me is that we scored very late in the game which, at least, makes you feel like the players kept on fighting despite everything that has been going on against us in recent weeks. No suicidal defending either. Our attacking play remains very limited and the challenge against Forest will be a very different one but at least the result and, more importantly, the performance offers a glimmer of hope.

I didn't see a low block more than a very well organized, tight-between-the-lines 4-4-2 where we actually were more aggressive going forwards and won way more second balls.

He has found path out right now, and with the couple we'll get back for Forest, I think we should be expecting to win that game now. With others coming back during the international break, this feels very good all of a sudden.
I maintain that this is a mini-season and each game 'now' is all we should think about, drawing off vibes when we make them.
We were in a low block for significant phases of that game imo. With both strikers joining in getting back into midfield areas to defend and cover space.

But other than a period after their goal and for a while towards the end when we were clearly throwing caution to the wind and didn't have the legs to get back we defended as a unit. Low, mid block and some higher pressing. Good mixture really and reasonably good cohesion in that.

ALS think Kolo deserves a mention for his composure in the assist. Fought well and controlled the ball well
Absolutely. And think maybe Tudor has found his role now for us. Impact sub. He has the quality and shows effort coming off the bench. One or two situations where he really chased back too.

But not sure he shows enough when starting. May be a physical thing, may be a mental thing. But doesn't seem to have that fight for everything for 90 minutes ability that we quite clearly need from every starting player now. But from the bench he can make a difference.

That's how I'd use him anyway, for league games at least.

And Lacroix hardly touched Cunha and got sent off a fourth night ago.

Whether we like it or not, in order to "win" a penalty nowadays the attacker needs to engage in some theatrics so that officials will apply the letter of the law.

By getting his shot away Richarlison gifted Virgil a Get Out Of Jail card; ironic considering he normally goes to ground just as easily as his Brazilian compatriot Cunha.

I fail to see what a traditional Slavic dance has to do with yesterday's match 😅
