*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Ipswich Town FC ***

They had 17 shots, but we had as many shots in the box as they did.

All of our shots were inside the 18 yard box. 7 of theirs were out side.

We had more shots on target than they did (6-5), and we blocked more of their shots (7-3)

XGOT was 0.63 to 3.12

For me this is a big test of consistency. We had a credible home performance against a team we should beat last week and now we go to an away game against a relegation zone team. This is exactly where Spurs have floundered in the past, even with Ange in charge. Guys like our captain are notorious for disappearing in these games, even though he might nick a goal.

We have a very expensively assembled squad and should have enough depth to manage a few that aren't quite 90 mins fit. We did last weekend. I'm hoping that we have normalised now to not having some key centre halves and centre forwards missing. 2 from Danso, Davies and Gray should get the job done. Same as all the attacking players we have available without Richi and Solanke.

Today is about getting the job done, even if it is winning ugly.
Today is a tougher task on paper than last week. Ipswich are nothing special but they are fighting for their lives, they've already beaten us once and have a plan of of action against us that they know can be successful. Beyond that, this is a match they have to be going into thinking they can or must get something from both due our own poor form along with that pulling us back into the scrap. I'd hope for a win but this season you never know what to expect with Spurs, it's typically pretty poor tbh and these are the kind of matches that often cause us issues regardless of our own form.

Fair play to the manager and players.

We know we shouldn't lose these games and we didn't. So happy to share credit where credit is due.

Onto the next one.

Not perfect, but a good performance and another great win. I'm battling COVID so it was the tonic I need.

Sincere condolences to all of those we predicted we'd get a spanking.

Through the long and dark tunnel of the last few months, we now have strength in depth as the youngsters show their mettle and faced the fire.

Bring It.

I didn't see the match until pretty much our penalty incident, so I saw the last two goals. But 1-4 away from home you can't complain. I might watch the whole thing back at some point to see the flow of the game. Annoyingly I missed Spence's proper RB debut (after all this time. 😅).

I stick with the thought that this was probably a tougher match than the United one. I look at Ipswich despite being limited as a team as a group that will fight for their very lives and make things as difficult as possible. It's a challenge it's nice to see us come through, a bit like the Brentford match which I thought was a really tough game (& watch) but we managed to get the points.

I wondered why you put it in then, do you not think the injuries have been a major part of the of the problem? I understand many want the manager out, but don't want to acknowledge there are reasons for our results other than him, poor old Pep gets lots of sympathy because Rodri is injured.
Get some players back from injury, able to better rotate and rest players as a result, three league wins in a row. Who would have thought it....

I wouldn't be relying on Dr Tottenham to keep me well, but then I've no idea how good Indonesian health care is.

He really was terrible. Seeing the replay of Danso getting pummeled in the box, he had a clear view of it and decided nothing. Ridiculous.
He lost control really, and looked like he had no idea what he was doing. If they had given that penalty on Kulu it would have summed it up.

Honestly think they should just get rid of VAR and keep goal line technology thats it.

It sure does, I have had a positive week (apart from a session at work on Thursday which I am sure this week will bring me some stress when I am back in the office), but that aside, winning 2 games in 2 weekends in a row does bring positivity. That and not moaning and actually enjoying a game, even when conceding a goal.

Positivity breeds positivity, that must be the mindset from now on.
