*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur FC vs Manchester United ***

Not a strong disagree on my part but a tentative one.

Considering Maddison was making appearances at the end of last season, it is however a bit concerning if he's not able to start a game given the summer + full pre season.

Kulu's another situation and it has hurt us having three players (adding Simons in to this) that we rely on for creativity out for an undetermined amount of time. Arguably you never really know with any injury, and for their personal wellbeing caution is advised. None of the three would hit the ground running and solve our issues either, for varying reasons.

Maybe it seems like Bergvall is catching a stray here but that's where I don't really get what he brings atm, Gallagher is getting picked ahead of him and the kid plays high risk in low yield situations - If he's not suitable as a 10 or box to box, nor as a deep lying player, or an actual ball winner (I miss Palhinha making tackles, remember those?), what actually is Bergvall? And will he get enough minutes ahead of Tonali, Fernandes and ironically our best performing midfielder in Bents....

This current Spurs team must be a fudging nightmare save in football manager!

Dont disagree but I think we are getting to the point that holding out for the moments isnt worth it, its almost holding us back

Don't see it but RDZ needs a win here, I'd argue a good win but expect he'd take a scrape by win. Follow that up with a decent win against Coventry and we could try to build momentum.

Lose here (badly would be a mess) and the pressure on the Coventry game at home (with our crowd) becomes too much, and we all know how we have responded to those kind of pressure situations in recent history.

My fear is that we totally dominate possession with our midfield, and United eventually leaves us to do that and just sling a ball ver the top for Mbuemo to run in behind and punish us.

This is a game for Solanke to step up for us. He often has in the past vs Man Utd and hopefully he can get his shooting boots on tomorrow...

Apparently, De Zerbi initially went 5 games without a win in the Premier League at Brighton. They won the sixth game ......

People keep quoting this but it’s an entirely different scenario with us.

RDZ took over a pretty well-functioning Graham Potter team which was lying 4th in the table. They had won 4 of their first 6 games. He inherited a team that was flying.

He’s had all summer at our club (I won’t count the end of last season for obvious reasons). He’s brought in a lot of the players he wanted. We have 2 points out of a possible 15, and memories of the last two seasons must be weighing heavily around the club itself, not just with the supporters.

Much as I think it would probably be an error, I think he’ll be gone if he loses the next two games. 2 points from a possible 21 would probably get any PL manager the sack tbh.

Here’s hoping we win tomorrow and it’s all moot.

I just havent got a clue what team will start, how they will play and what the result will be....

I've only been watching Spurs for 59 years and, apart from the odd consistent season, this is just the same old Tottenham....

Anyway, COYS.

We need to get past the sentiment on Madders and Deki and look to offload in winter and upgrade.

Neither are going to get to anywhere near the level this club needs.

I agree and think the levels of expectation we have in Deki are bordering on reckless. Madders has long been a luxury for me (at best) albeit he is the only player we have right now who can see what he sees.

No word of a lie I've not seen nor heard a single Spurs fan complaining about the international break.

Oh look it's another fresh start! It's a damn shame I'll be at a wedding tomorrow and as such, regrettably unable to watch rather than bordering on unwilling. I think we'll utilise our rope a dope strategy of going two or three goals behind, lulling the opposition into trance like state where they forget they're playing a game of football so we can seize glory by bundling in an ultimately meaningless goal, giving ourselves something to build on for the next fresh start.

I predict our cunning plan of spending a fortune in midfield to elevate Bentancur's game will continue to bear fruit. In addition, splurging 160m in to wide forwards with historically little end product for one of the best teams in the world will really pay off, especially when they're getting chances a plenty laid on for them and can create opportunities for big Dom. At least we kept our top scorers from last season so there's goals spread across the team. Say whatever you like about Solanke, no goals blah blah blah but you've got to factor in his impressve no social media outbursts statistic, the archetypal De Zerbi player. Ah, speaking of, our maestro ball playing extraordinaire has generously got himself injured so at least Danso can step i- Oh wait...Van Hecke is a bit like the rug in The Big Lebowski, in theory it really ties the whole room (team) together but unfortunately got tinkled on by some nihilistic thugs.

I'm attempting to use reverse psychology on fate here, which will hopefully conspire to prove me wrong on all fronts and make me look the fool I am come full time. By which point I'll ideally be too busy being bladdered, unironicaly doing the macarena with some lovely people 🫡🕺💃🍾
Tell you what; that night in September of 2012, when we first won at Old Trafford in the PL era, I was also attending a wedding and couldn't watch the game.

If that's not a good omen, GHod knows what is.

2-3 Spurs, Savio with a hat trick.

I have been going up to Old Trafford for many years and only seen us win up there on a few occasions. What makes it worse is that i have family members who are reds and they are always giving me a hard time. Fingers crossed it will be different this time.
The last great one was when Bale ruined Rio :)

I increasingly don't know who we are, who is the heartbeat of the team, and whether we believe in ourselves. It is hard to maintain a positive outlook.

I’ve felt like this for a while. Have the odd flash of belief (for example, in the concourse of the South before the New castle game in August) and then the stuffing gets knocked out of you for the umpteenth time and…well…

Anyway, like the rest of us, Tottenham ’til I die. It’ll turn at some point, even if it’s not tomorrow.

Just finished watching RDZ's presser.
I zoned out.
It is the same old stuff, the same old questions, the same old answers, the same old same old...
...I feel sorry for him, because I suspect he doesn't want to be repeating the same crap and answering the same questions over and over again.
I am over hearing them for sure.
There is only one thing which will change these narratives...

I’m pretty much the same. But actually I’ve noticed more and more….he seems to be over complicating things. Talking about players being too young - the prem is too hard. Not quite fit enough - the prem is hard. Arrived late for season - the prem is hard. Can’t play a certain position/forced to play out of position.

I tell you what pal. We know it’s hard it is, because we’re bottom! - you’ve showed us how hard it is.

Get on with it - try the creative players, try the youngsters. Just someone senior at the club please make one decision that proves a good one - for once!

This. The constant flow of excuses wearing thin.
