*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur FC vs Manchester United ***

Thought both had very very imposing games on Saturday
And for young players that ain’t easy

There was at least one instance I remember where Bergval steamed in to win the ball right on the edge of the box, I remember thinking last season or even a few weeks ago it was the sort of thing he was a little bit late to, hopefully a good sign that he can be trusted more in this system.

He did that for Solanke first chance
I think and hope that the recent international break may have really helped him

That aligns with what I was thinking
His fitness this season and been bad
I also wonder with players who have had a lot of injuries how much faith they have in their bodies
Players talk about it all the time and I think we’re seeing a fitter bentacur for example because he knows he is no longer broken
Does Solanke feel like that?
Maddison can’t feel fit with his set backs
Hard to know for sure

Absolutely, and to that end I suppose it is harsh to say Solanke's mentality is not quite right. He has his own personality and I think it's clear he is a different fish to, for example, Bentancur. And yes, to say one cares more than the other would be wrong for sure. I see Solanke and can actually see he is suffering with confidence and all of it, as well as (as you suggest) his own physical fitness. I think what De Zerbi is doing is really good, and between that, what we achieved at Old Trafford after falling into a place of similar adversity, and the Spanish pow-wow going down now, I think we will soon reap the benefits of building this 'culture' within the group.

I’m just going by his touch and his first time finishing and technique that we have seen him demonstrate early in his Spurs career and prior to it. He has more than he is showing, I am sure of it.

The one thing he cannot do is learn where to arrive/be in the 6-9 yard zones of the box. He is not really a 'sniffer' or a poacher, and the way we are creating offers chances galore for that sort of striker (imagine a peak Defoe feeding off those crosses/cutbacks). Might well be why we were so gung-ho on Kroupi...

Just to be clear I think they are both doing well enough so far this season, they were just flavour of the spacegoat for a while and it won't take too much for the pitchforks and torches to come out again from some on here
