What this match has shown, is that our squad is nowhere near good enough and contains too many passengers. We cannot cover left back and it would seem Poch has no confidence in Wimmer. Our best 11 are as good as anybody, but we fall away badly after that. Our squad would be the 6th best in the league.
Don't repeat everything you hear.

We lost away at Chelsea, United, and now Liverpool ......and really should have lost against City away and Liverpool at home. We were also shown up in the Champions League. As I said, we really are not as good as we think we are.

Difficult to know what to say about this game that hasn't already been said. @GinolaGinolaGinola put it best when he bluntly stated that this was one of those where you can't say anything, really, because the only pertinent fact that emerges is that we were beaten all over the field, and across the technical area as well.
Every red shirt was superior to their lilywhite counterpart - embarassingly so. More grit, more determination, more desire, more energy, more heart, and more quality...*everywhere*. And watching that game, you would have thought that we were the ones coming off a horrific January, not Liverpool.
The starting formation exposed Davies badly, and Liverpool took full advantage. Poch belatedly changed it, but didn't make any proactive subs until Winks late, *late* in the second half - and the tactical change only served to keep us from going *further* behind, doing little to actually get the ball into their half.
Klopp outmanaged Poch with ridiculous ease, and Liverpool dominated our lads.
And all of this could, again, have been summed up by the simple phrase 'we were so bad we can't even say anything about it.'
The only consolations from such a woefully inept performance is that this was our hardest away game left, and we usually get dominated by Klopp and/or Liverpool anyway, so not much of a surprise if we're being honest about it. I'm yearning for the golden days of Harry with respect to this lot - where we went up to Anfield and won with relative ease, then came back down to the Lane a few months later and tacoted them 4-0. The more our managers grew in terms of tactical sophistication (From AVB to Poch), the less successful we've gotten against them. I sense a connection.
Anyway, target has to be to break our PL points record - anything else is a bonus. We need 23 points to do that, which is doable over 13 games - 7 wins, 2 draws, 4 losses should get us over the line. I still think we'll get close to 76 and that said figure will signal an immensely successful season.
However, I do want us to keep going in the FA Cup as well. And thankfully, we won't meet these c*nts there, because we would *assuredly* lose again.

The way we approached this game, though. I mean, I never expected Pochettino to come out and park any buses, but this was something else entirely. Having witnessed the way we completely fuсked that in the most brainless way imaginable, I think I might be delirious, though, because I'm feeling over the moon that we only managed to concede 2 goals.

Lack of squad depth makes it hard for Poch to break open matches in the way other coaches can. Winks, when Cheat$ki can bring on Willian?

What does frustrate me today is that we weren't prepared for the initial Mane onslaught. I'm sure we all thought Davies would struggle but we could easily have doubled up early doors probably like the other teams have that played Liverpool have done.
That's my only concern that this wasn't taken care of.

We're not *super* against the top sides - we lose and draw our fair share, unlike Liverpool. But we hold our own. The CL is a different story - we were 100% shown up there, and I agree with @Pirate55 on that.

No. We were outplayed by the books for the opening 45. We had a couple of chances, primarily two set up by Ben Davies (expecting that to be overlooked by many). But overall we were about as clearly second best as we were against City.
Only two teams in the league (City and Liverpool) press that well for full games. Though it's a worry that others might try it more seeing how much terrible it causes us.
Our problem against teams sitting back deep is not as big.
Yes, overall we're a very good team.

One good thing to come out of it, a sparkling cameo from Winks. Composed and immaculate from the moment he stepped onto the park, with a dash of flair thrown in towards the end in the move that saw Walker swing his cross beyond the goal .

I agree but one thing I would warn against is finding perspective here so soon after the whistle. Some will vent and that is all it is. Frustration. Long-term they know. But I agree.

Agree fully.
I find it a strange change from the trust and belief shown to ball playing midfielders in Pochettino's first season to the current approach.
I can only assume that there's something I'm missing or that Pochettino is simply rewarding our overall results with game time in big matches for our regular starters.

All came with the same gameplan..even Plymouth did too.
Sometimes you have to forget your heritage for playing attacking football, and adapt your style to get the result. We parked the bus a few times in the past (notabtly at Chelsea once).
Okay its not pretty, and its not 'The Tottenham Way', but there are times it needs to be done

What is more worrying was that it was all too predictable, and when it started to unravel (very early) Poch didn't change it. He is a great manager but he has to take the brunt of the blame today. He really needs to take a more pragmatic approach against certain teams . High line, no pressure on the ball was very reminiscent of AVB.
