[[OMGT - Tottenham vs QPR]]

Togo saying Ade has flow out for the AFCON. So means JD up top alone

Lloris
Walker Dawson Vert Ekotto
Sandro Dembele
Lennon Sig/Dempsey Bale
Defoe

He's already flown out? well that fudging sucks.

Togo claim Emmanuel Adebayor will play for them at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Tottenham striker Adebayor said last year that he would not play at the tournament - which runs from January 19 to February 10 in South Africa - because of a row over team security and unpaid bonuses.

But Togo now claim that the 28-year-old striker has already flown out to Ghana for a pre-tournament training camp.

"Of course we're in the African Nations Cup with Adebayor, we will be together in South Africa," head of the Togo Football Federation, Ameyi Gabriel, is reported to have told Radio Algeria International.

"It is very important to have him there because he is our player and captain of the team."

Adebayor's absence would leave Spurs with just one recognised striker in Jermain Defoe.

Manager Andre Villas-Boas has regularly claimed he does not need to add another striker to his squad in the January transfer window, but he has been linked with another bid for Internacional and Brazil forward Leandro Damiao in recent days.

It is not known whether Adebayor will return to London for Saturday's home game against QPR or remain with the Sparrow Hawks.

Should Togo make the final of the competition, Adebayor will miss four Tottenham matches, but they are in a tough group with Ivory Coast, Tunisia and Algeria.

Well Dempsey can play as a striker, so we can play two up front. A lot of the time Ade doesn't play like a central striker anyway.

It's annoying he's left us, and I hope we buy another striker and that striker is successfu enough along with Clint and JD to consign Ade to bench for most of the rest of the season.

I was a big, big fan of Ade last season. This season, I dunno what he's doing, but it's not been good enough.

i thought he had flown out to meet with the powers-that-be over there to sort out this pay dispute or whatever it was that had him riled up (pay for the other players, rather than himself as i understand it ?) rather than actually flying out to play/train or whatever

From the Guardian: Spurs' players were granted three days off after Saturday's win over Coventry

Should keep them fresh for the rest of the season. :D

Too fudging right they should too

If we don't beat QPR comfortably, then Harry deserves some serious respect.

To take one of the most inept premier league teams ever seen, and then to beat Chelsea and Spurs on the bounce, would be genius

fudging hell, give him some credit

If they beat us, its a fudging embarrassment, and credit where credit is due; the Harry haters should get an avatar change

Definitely in favour of that!

Really do fear for us if Defoe picks up an injury or gets suspended in the next few weeks.

Seems likely.

With Ade reportedly gone to the ACN the only real debatable positions would be Dawson/Gallas and Dempsey/Sig.

I would prefer Dawson, but could see it go either way. Dempsey will probably retain his place.

To all the people saying QPR are awful and we should smash them...I kind of agree, but I also have the fear in my mind that they have to improve sometime and it may well be against us. Especially with the whole Harry against us narrative, their win at Chelsea, I think that's just the right amount of circumstances for football to serve up one of its annoying media friendly stories about how QPR might well be saved and how Harry proves Spurs wrong for letting him go.

We should win. We are in form and we are better. But football is a short time sort of match and we could well lose.

Also...I guess the 3 days off was planned before the rescheduling of the game? Hope we don't start off slowly because we weren't working as hard as QPR will have been all week.

As a right back maybe.

He just looks uncomfortable whenever he tries to come forward from left back.

imv there has been a marked improvement from him at left back in the last few games - but i wouldn't be opposed to Walker getting a bit of a rest either tbf

He's done well there, i just don't see a long term future for him at left back when i think he's looked far better at RB. He's decent cover to have though.

He has done well in the last few games, however playing devils advocate, the last few games were not really testing defensively.

I'm not expecting an easy game as Redknapp will have them up for it, and they did beat us at Loftus Road last season, but we are a much better side and this is the sort of game where anything other than 3 points would be a big disappointment.

Is Bale available for this game? It was only a one match suspension right?

I might be going to this game - my dads a QPR ST Holder and he sits right on the first row of the Paddock so would be nice for a change, from the last row of upper park lane, to watch a game from the lower echelons and hear the players scream and shout, and tackle, and a bit of banter.

I do like loftus Road
