Over all I was quite disappointed with Boardwalk season 2, particularly the way they turned Mrs Shroder from one of the best characters (with most potential) in the show to cliched Irish housewife in about 2 episodes flat.

Jimmy and his mum - totally unnecessary and WTF?!

Also disappointed what happened to Jimmy, think the show will miss his presence. While, of course, they have completely changed Nuckys dynamic (possibly the only interesting thing to come out of the series)

Some elements were bad such as those mentioned but I think Nuckys character came on fantastically, I remember reading an interview with the writers and they didnt intend for it to come out like this but the story naturally came full circle, remember that line when Jimmy says you cant be half a gangster or something like that? Thats when the writers realised they had to make Nucky murder him etc. Also I like the way you can now see a bit more defintion and character development with the respective big boys building up their gangs etc.
 
One of the respective big boys is dead now though, will leave a big void if not handled extremely well

As I said though, it was Mrs Schroder that disappointed me most, total waste of a character that had possibly the most potential in the whole show.

I should have said though, I liked the development of Nucky, its obvious that it was necessary
 
End of season 2 was epic but losing Jimmy is disappointing, I assume the rise of Luciano and Capone will try fill that void.

His Ma is a top MILF though, disturbed and wonky!

Got the all the Song of Ice and Fire books but ive yet to read them and i still havent seen Game of Thrones... So which to people suggest i do first? Read the books or watch the series? No doubt one will be better than the other

I've not read the books personally but the series is very good. One thing about watching the series first is that it paints the image of the show in your head and you see the likes of Sean Bean as opposed to constructing your own image from the authors words.

This was exactly my argument to a friend who told me to watch it first so i had a feel fot the characters
