**Official Other Games Thread, Season 2012/13**

Re: **Official Other Teams & Games Thread, Season 2012/13**

Even seeing pictures of that fudging horrible woman makes me feel angry. Put some sort of spoiler there paxton for christ sake! NSFL or something.

Re: **Official Other Teams & Games Thread, Season 2012/13**

If QPR lose their next 2 matches, they will only have 2 points from 8 matches

Now thats Harry scenario

West Brom Away
Everton Home

You could be onto something there. The way WBA are playing at home and the way Everton are playing all round its a definite possibilty

Adel Taarabt is a genius. Different class tonight. I think he plays well pretty much every time I see it. He must be utter brick whenever I don't see him for all the criticism he gets.

Re: **Official Other Teams & Games Thread, Season 2012/13**

so were we just absolutely abject in the first 45 against them or can they only get it up for the big teams?

Would certainly be interesting what would happen to him if Harry got the gig

I was inclined to give them some credit, but quite frankly we were pants, Bale looked like he'd never played LB before, but our passing and build-up was shocking

Just to take it a little further. If Hughes did get the sack after 8 games, and HR was installed within days his first match in charge would be.......Arsenal away.

Can be fantastic at his best, close to unstoppable.

Atrocious at his worst though, a real liability. Attack after attack breaking down through him just inviting counter attacks and little to no defensive work.

Unlikely to ever actually reach the heights his talent promised I think. Still only 23 so there's still some time I suppose, but he's just not showing the signs of improvement that he needs to. Often great entertainment to have him on the pitch at least, there's always something very special in him.

Wonder what he would do under someone like Pardew who I think has done very well to bring Ben Arfa through and make him a real player.

I bet that Harry will buy Parker if he is appointed. Scotty is a top player. However, he will be 32 in a couple of weeks.

Only watched the last 15 today, but different teams suit each other differently. Had a look at the goals West Ham scored and they were scrappy to say the least. We don't have a Carroll to hoof it to and try to build momentum from set pieces. That seemed to be what hurt QPR today.

Re: **Official Other Teams & Games Thread, Season 2012/13**

I don't get how they're doing ok/good so far this season.

James collins and Winston Reid in the centre, Mccartney at left back, Kevin 'fat boy' Nolan, the nothing midfielder that is Mark Noble, Carlton 'can't hit a barn door' Cole, a pensioner in goal thats rexflexes have declined to a 90 year olds level, and these players get a decent amount of game time. I hope they go down.

We have one like that aswell.

Re: **Official Other Teams & Games Thread, Season 2012/13**

I have to admit I am intrigued (sometimes slightly worried) about how AVB will set us up against the Allardyce/Pulis hoof-it-in-behind-em style.

I'm more concerned about our game against Villa this weekend than our game against Chelsea (strangely) for example

I have to say I don't think Pardew had much to do with Ben Arfa other than good judgement. Ben Arfa was ready to play football. Not sure Taarabt will ever get his head in the right place, he has too much ego.

It's all about bringing in some height when you can.

It's also very helpful in my opinion to have someone in central midfield who can challenge for the headers when they hoof it. That allows the centre backs to stay in position so those times the first header is lost the team is still organized.

One of the earlier games under Redknapp against Stoke we played Kaboul as a defensive midfielder, worked a treat for that very reason. I think as long as Sandro is available he can do that job just fine, as he did against Pogrebnyak when we faced Reading.

Villa are a bit of a long ball team, but not as good at it as Stoke and probably West Ham (haven't seen much of them, but seems like the classical Allardyce team). The team we have been putting out in recent weeks should do quite well. Might be an idea to start Dawson over Gallas and keep Vertonghen instead of Naughton even if he's fit. Dempsey over Sig and we have plenty of players to deal with the set piece threat and hoofballs, while keeping the skill and ability we will need to hopefully break them down.

Seemed very conscious the way he early on wouldn't start Ben Arfa. Essentially he wasn't really allowed to start in any games apart from against smaller teams until he proved that he would do a job for the team, track back and not be a selfish showpony. Ben Arfa like Taarabt came with a reputation from France, but now seems like a decent pro. Not particularly good defensively, but gets himself right side of the ball and that goes a long way for an attacking midfielder like him.

I remember Saudi Sportswashing Machine fans (Greg amongst them) calling Pardew some not very flattering names because he kept starting Ben Arfa on the bench, but in my opinion it seems like he had a plan with it and it seems to be paying off. Of course I could be seeing things that aren't really there, just my take on a situation that I think has been handled very differently from how Warnock and Hughes have handled Taarabt at QPR.

Re: **Official Other Teams & Games Thread, Season 2012/13**

wow QPR is really in deep trouble now. just shows how much of a team sport football is. how come the journalists aren't calling for Hughes head yet?

Re: **Official Other Teams & Games Thread, Season 2012/13**

Looking forward to Saturday, WBA-QPR and WHam-Arse. Could be a good one. [-o<

Arsenal 2 points behind West Ham in the league, despite their title winning start to the season. They're only ahead of Fulham on goal difference.
