Of course it wasn't a fair fight, Hugo is one of the best keepers in the world, Brad isn't.

Can I ask again (since you failed to reply the last time I asked) why you have worked yourself into such a lather about the goalkeeping situation?

Why are you so angry on Brad's behalf when he, evidently, is happy at Spurs?

You have, and you're wayyyyyyyyy wrong, but carry on believing in Brad's superiority if you want. He's nowhere near as good as Hugo, thankfully AVB has now seen sense, the battle is won, the champion rightly crowned.

So the team plays much better, Lloris faces worse opponents, has less shots hit his way, and that makes his stats look artificially better


Not to mention Freidel faced Chelsea and United (taking in 6 goals) while Lloris just faced one top 4 team (Arsenal) and took in 5 goals.

And just one more thing I've noticed, I've kept the Freidel talk to his thread, while you go around various threads slagging him off, what has he done to you that you've gotta insult him all over. Barthez, Domenech, Blanc is that you talking more trash trying to sway opinion artifically? :D

At the end of the season, if the stats and results maintain themselves to form, will you admit you might have been guilty of a bit of bias?

I don't go round slagging off Brad, I go round saying that Lloris is wayyyyyyy better than Brad which is true.

Lloris is wayyyyyy better than most keepers in the world, so it's not Brad's fault that he's up against a far superior keeper.

If you read my posts you'll see that I say I think Brad is still a decent Prem keeper and he's also a top guy and great ambassador for football.

I've simply been infuriated by the lack of respect shown to the highest rated player that ENIC have ever signed, and how low key Hugo's welcome by the media was and still is.

We have the captain of France in our midst, it's still hard to fathom that from much of the coverage Hugo receives.

I back the French anger over Hugo's treatment all the way. He should have been number one from day one, he's a better keeper than Brad in every department of the game. Dropping him after the Villa game was a scandal.

no doubt. but to be slagging him off after every spurs win (as if they didnt win with brad in there) is stupid. as if they weren't 4th last year too with him. just playing along at this point, wont allow it.

I took the trouble to start watching France after we signed him, I noticed he was captain of France at a young age for a keeper, I checked his record with Lyon beside watching You Tube, I could see he was world class. There's always a doubt when a player comes to a different type of league, but very quickly I saw what a great keeper we had signed, and he's adapted brilliantly to a more physical league..

Isn't it great to have Friedel as a back-up for games such as this? Ensures that we keep our trust at the back, and it gives Lloris a rest for league matches.

No it mean the centre halfs get a constant changing of Keeper styles behind them.
Caulker will get confused again that the keeper is shouting for the ball as Friedel never comes for it.
We need a backup keeper with the same style as Lloris so that it doesnt unsettle the defensive understanding we're building up.

When is the last time we had a back-up 'keeper as good as Friedel. Actually, does any team in world football (bar national sides) have one as good as him? While I do agree that constant changing of 'keepers a la United isn't good for the back-line, we won't be chopping and changing - merely Friedel coming in for the occasional cup game etc. Most of our defensive players have been training with Friedel for over a year so they know what he is about.
