New Years Eve

Normally i don't like clubbing on this day due to the ridiculously inflated entrance fee prices but i've been convinced to go out this year. 'Fire' in Vauxhall are doing an old school garage, rnb and hip hop night and £25 isn't too bad so that's where i'll be.

So what's everyone else up to?

I hate absolutely despise going out on New Years Eve. Just despise it with a passion. Getting home is the worst not because of the cost but simply because of the commotion there is - no cabs, drunk people around and always some kind of trouble.

I have some friends round - which wont be spectacular but will be nice and chilled.

I'm up in Ruthin with the other half's family. Going to be a quiet one, dinner then watching some fireworks outside the castle.

Last year I spent NYE at a Hawaiian themed party at a mates house on the beach in Rose Bay, Sydney. We had unobstructed views of the bridge and Opera House. I'm not going to top that for a while, so going to keep them low-key and inexpensive for a bit!

Have a great night everyone.

I'm having New Year's Eve with the family. Happy to do so as this means a chilled night with good food, avoiding the fuss, the over inflated prices, the idiots who use midnight as the target time by which to drink as much as possible and then act stupidly.

Plus helping family tomorrow, so makes sense to be staying with them tonight.

I used to love NYE. It is now perfection. Pubs/bars full of absolute helms who have been on it since 11am

Trains are running until 04:00 am i think...and free.

Nothing as elaborate as last year, which Rock claims he attended. !!!

Just a few couples over for a sun-downer, overlooking the Indian Ocean. Hope to see some
dolphins jumping around.

Cooking marinated king prawns and red snapper on the BBQ, as the starter.

Main course is mutton biryani, with all the side dishes.

Lots of beers, wine and spirits available. I am doing a jug of my famous
bloody mary.

Nobody will drive home. I have enough rooms to put them up for the night,
and give them a fresh bloody mary with breakfast

Happy New Year to all. Enjoy and be safe.

Now THAT could top my Sydney New Year! What time should I pop round? I make a mean sag paneer and JW comes as standard ;)

I love sag paneer. Make it quite often when we feel like having a vegi meal.

Anyway I don't hold anything against Rock. He was on a wind up and was never in Kenya.

You can pop around anytime. So can any GG guys who happen to come to Mombasa.

The ocean will still be there, and I can cook the same or better meal. All on the house of course.

I'm going to see Saving Mr Banks. NYE is a letdown as others have alluded to, Xmas Eve is a far better night out, as long as you don't over do it and end up feeling like **** on Xmas day.

Problem with NYE is that everything is geared up towards midnight and there's so many idiots out that wouldn't usually be out. Much better when you can drink at your usual pace and everyone aren't out traveling somewhere at the same time.

Enjoy your celebrations glory-gloryers... :) Take care with fireworks and stuff, eyesight is rather important both for watching football and for being on a forum ;)

Luckily not going out, drinks and stuff with friends. No one going anywhere apart from just outside to watch the fireworks, no one going out to clubs or pubs, normally ends up being really enjoyable nights.

Best of luck to those of you actually heading out partying, hopefully you'll find a way to enjoy the madness. This would be the time to practice meditation, zen calmness or something...
