I think it was on Football Focus on Saturday that they had a feature on the new FA training centre (st georges park) that has opened recently. Much of it looked very familiar in comparison to the leaked internal photos of our new centre in Enfield and without gloating some of our areas (eg elite changing area) looks better.
I presume much of the exercise, treatment, training, pitch, areas and equipment and the theory behind building design and layout is pretty much best in class at this level.
Although we (rightfully) think it looks the nuts, at this level it looks as though this is the standard to be expected.
The thing to congratulate the club on is that we are at this level.
what is this sky bar stuff - first i have heard of it
and a bridge ? what bridge ??

is that the bridge above the 'north' stand linking the other building ? i guess there were plans to have a roof top bar there as well ?
The sky bar was a modification to the original plan on top of the supermarket. I don't remember the bridge clearly, but I think it was a direct link (or bridge) between this bar area and the stadium concourse areas. Jimmyb can correct or add to this description.
I'm sure that the Olympic stadium will get added corporate seats. But nothing like as many as Wembley's for the simple reason that it won't stage anything like as many major sporting events as Wembley.
Wembley is exceptional because 17,000 of the 90,000 seats are corporate - a significantly higher proportion than at any other stadium. Furthermore, as the national stadium, it stages mostly major events (as opposed to mere league games). It also has broader appeal, since the events it hosts aren't limited to just one club. So it is especially attractive to corporate clients.
Even so, I doubt that 80% figure. For starters, it's very hard to calculate, given that most of the corporate packages were sold on ten year terms. Besides which, the maths just doesn't add up, IMO. Given Wembley's high prices, a sellout would generate at least £3 million in normal ticket sales. Which would mean that Wembley's 17,000 corporate seats would have to generate £12 million of sales per match in order to account for 80% of match day income. Or £705 per seat. And there's no way that the FA could charge anything like that much for the large majority of the 17,000 corporate seats.
Most of that post is just wrong.
The Olympic Stadium will probably hold far more major events than Wembley. Internationals and Cup Finals will always be held there, but Stratford will be competing to hold the other events as contracts come up for renewal - rugby, NFL etc. However, ultimately it's a venue's ability to attract a diverse range of event owners or promoters (not just male dominated sports) that determine it's hospitality sales potential. That's why the O2 smashes even Wembley's high percentage of corporate revenue.
The post-development Olympic Stadium will be a direct competitor for both the O2 and Wembley. The leading proposal for that part of the site actually has 3 music venues, and with LiveNation as a partner it will be holding a huge number of events alongside what will probably be both football and rugby tenants in the main stadium. The lack of hospitality facilities is widely known in the events industry as a massive issue.
The 80% figure isn't hard to calculate either - it's in the FA's Financial Statements which are publically available.
Actually, I'm a bit confused!
The pic appears to be of the northern development - which, last we heard, was meant to consist of the supermarket, some office space and the "brand centre" (whatever that means). Yet, if you click on the link:

...you'll see that the building in the picture is the "University Technical College of Haringey".
And, as far as I was aware, the college was originally planned for the southern development.
P.S. You're right that the bridge was originally designed just as a link between the stadium and the skybar area.
