I think Planes said as recently as yesterday that he had agreed to join Real Betis. Something about liking the project blah blah

Monchi would be a disaster. He's always been quantity over quality, which in a world where english clubs cant sell players, is a recipe for chelsea.

He was a big flop at roma too

Sevilla seem to be doing just fine with it.

after years of foreign guys doing the role I'd love to see a british DoF brought in - for no reason other than they will be schooled in what makes a successful player in the English game. At various points during the tenure of each European DoF we've watched a slight, skilful youngster move from the continent or even South America, and then flop, usually when we all wanted him to succeed, and go back to Spain/Italy/Etc to lick his wounds and become a quality player. Whether we like it or not there's still a physicality to our game which means that more fail than succeed if they are not 6ft or more.

So yeah - Monchi.

What does their country of birth have to do with anything?

It’s all about how much study they have put in and how they work and communicate with others.

There is nothing unique or special about British football, it’s not the top league because of where it is, but because of the incredible marketing job the PL have done globally.

The foreign influence has made it better, British football was absolute garbage before the PL.
