New Ipad

Soon to be re-branded, once RIM are swallowed up.

I love my blackberry bold 2. Its got the keypad - which is the best in the business and a touchscreen which is also very good and receptive. The browser is also much improved from the previous OS although it is still marginally behind the iPhone.

I am actually more intrigued by the android type phones.

Not surprised they are gonna be swallowed up, theyre losing customers weekly. This time last year 40-50% of my mates had a Blackberry, now Id say 205 and that is reducing rapidly as contracts expire and people renewing contracts.

But the OP didn't give that as his reason either, did he?

He just doesn't like Apple, which is his choice.

I never said he did?

Yes it is his choice. Not sure why you are always so keen to post replies to me making out I've said something totally different to what I did say.

The OP apparently has no arms. Dont think he has any legs either

Blackberry have made some great products as well, I used a few and never thought 'this is brick'. It's just you have one phone for 2 years so people are going to compare it and go for the best all rounder. For me I don't like the screen size and quite often the shape of the blackberrys.

The problem with blackberry is that, while it was first to connect with the executive market, it hasn't innovated enough to keep itself ahead of its competitors. Pretty stupid manoeuvre, considering their platform was a door opening to a market containing those with the most disposable income; instead, it spread itself too thin - trying to be all things, to all people. Never works. Apple have one phone, not several pointless iterations, and all R&D is thrown into it. It works, the sales figures speak for themselves.

Just to point out, I have a Samsung Galaxy SII and my opinion is that is bricks all over the Iphone.

The 4s is alot better than the 4, but I would expect the new SIII to be alot better again.

I hate apple because of the Itunes bullcrap and the licencing brick, not the products.

That said there still is no place for a cheap external memory stick to add 16GB. No you have to pay for a different IPAD if you want more.

Just looking I did discover this though... anyone know of a cheaper way

They have made some great products but unfortunately their app store is way behind apple and android and that contributes to people moving away from them. People are obsessed with apps and generally these app makers dont make the apps for Blackberry's until after apple and android. Ultimately though Blackberry have chosen their market which is the business world and whilst they have tried to encroach in the personal consumers, especially with the messenger tactic, it no longer holds because of other messenger apps like whatsapp.

I think the phones are suitable sized, the older ones were crap but the new ones have become much more ergonomically suitable.

Also lets not forget whenever we compare iphone, androids and blackberrys we are comparing fairly different devices. iPhone is a full touchscreen device hence bigger screens so much more suited to multimedia such as movies etc whilst the Blackberrys product list is more keypads and touchscreen combo.

I will give you ?ú300 for one to halve your pain

I'm doing it for you sunshine

Thanks for the offer, but its a present.. she would chop my nads off. (she used my credit card #-o )

I'm fricken stuck with it.. bar a slippery finger drop down the stairs.

I dont even get what is so special about the ipad. Its fairly expensive. Is it just a big massive iphone without the ability to use it as a phone? is that really all it is?

Valid criticism that I've also thought about, but actually the reality is it has barely made a difference. iTunes has proven useful at times in managing the device. I have a degree in IT so would probably prefer to be able to play around with the device, but for a lot of people the way apple works is a good thing.

The storage issue has never been a problem, I've not used up the space but if I did I'd just shift things around. Bit of a pain but good product to use. I'm using my iPad now.

Tbh... I thought the same before I got the SII, I've found myself using the phone to browse instead of the PC. I guess it's the convenience of the screen instead of a lumpy laptop. I cannot fault why people would want one. Great for kids I'd imagine... Games.. Tv... Internet. As I said its the buy only from us I don't like.

Yeah me too, just set up one of them. For her.

Mine might stay in the box, just to make her feel bricky. 5 days should do it.

She only got the 16gb ones, Now I would have got the 64. Ah fudge now shes crying, last thing I need is the mother in-law waking.

Yeah pretty much. I use it more than my phone and laptop. I spent ?ú1700 on a sony viao and ?ú400 on an iPad. I use the iPad twice as much as it's easier to sit down with this rather than a bulky product on my lap. The thing I like the most is it switches on in a second, I hate waiting for my laptop to boot up just to check BBC news or twitter etc.

I have no idea why I bought it and I certainly didn't need it, but I use it loads. The only problem is it takes me 3 hours to get to sleep as I read pointless stuff on it in bed.

Yeah thats what happens - I have a laptop and just cant deal with desktops anymore. Laptops are just an awesome invention. Work laptop - I can work anywhere in a coffee shop before a meeting or on the train going to a meeting. My personal laptop the macbook I can just lie on bed checking out porn n brick.

Yeah different devices but most people can only own one. So even if they are all good, only one will get picked. Blackberry need to do what samsung and HTC did, try and make a phone as much like an iphone as possible.

My company is going from its 300 blackberrys to iphones in a couple of months

ok, not 2-1, but quite a difference for 2011 figures, and not exactly diminishing.

Yeah but that's misleading because you are not comparing like with like, it's not just one range of iPhones against one rage of android phones, there seems to be hundreds of different models of android phone. Is any one model outselling the iPhone? Doubt it.

I'm due an upgrade in a few months and am going to get one of iPhone 4s, iPhone 5 ( if it is out and the contract ain't too expensive, or the galaxy s2 or the s3 if that has come out ad the contract aint't too expensive. All of those phones are commonly derided as sheeeep phones, but the reason that they are so popular is that they are basically he best around!
