It was, however Jol did himself no favours interviewing for the Saudi Sportswashing Machine managers job a few months before. I guess Levy thought he owed him no loyalty after that?

I agree that Levy handled it poorly but “allegedly” Jol was in sniffing a pay rise every time we hit a run of form and had also hitched his skirt for the dutch job as well as Saudi Sportswashing Machine.

Personally I think the fans stabbed Jol in the back. All Levy heard was 'He's taken us as far as he can', which was the consensus at the time. He probably did what he thought the fans wanted. Not that he handled it well.
