Mauricio Pochettino - Sacked

There is a non zero chance one of them leaves this summer (in fact, I'd reckon its pretty high). There is even a non zero chance that 2 or 3 of them leave. If all 3 leave (which I don't see happening) but I don't see it as a Southampton situation tbh.

Long term, we'll be on a much more steady footing. It would be difficult to replace Alderweireld, even more so to replace Eriksen and even more so to replace Poch but, because of the great work Poch has done (and the long term work Levy is putting in), we'd be in a much better position to do so than when we first hired Poch.

I don’t think there is any chance Poch will go this summer - but, if he did, we’d be in a great position to attract most of the best managers in the world.

The way the teams are under poch are very similar other than the quality at Poch's disposal. He went into Southampton and built a team that were playing for him and believed in his philosophy. A few of his important players were allowed to leave and he decided he wanted a new challenge and moved on. What happens if we allow Toby and Eriksen to leave due to not giving them what they wanted? Poch doesn't get money to spend, we lose 2 of our best players, he decides he has had enough? Quite similar situation other than quality of the 2 teams.

OK. Come on mate. Put your hand between your legs. Touch them, nay, give ‘em a good cupping and roar loudly as you do.

Those, my friend, are your balls. And those, my friend, need to be a little bigger and stronger right now. Whatever it takes to get there, do it!!!!

So I think he may just like being linked. Maybe it’s some psychology / aura thing with him, like it is good for his players to view him as some sort of highly sought after managerial GHod.

“It is like you are with your girlfriend or wife and you are holding hands, walking down Oxford Street,” he said. “But because you are so handsome, another woman is looking at you. But your wife is so proud and, rather than worrying, she is so happy to be with you and falls more in love with you.”

This popped up in my news feed:

Teddy Sheringham has backed Mauricio Pochettino as the only suitable candidate to take over at Old Trafford next summer.

Pochettino is the bookies’ favourite to become the club’s next permanent manager when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tenure as interim boss ends, following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho last week.

And former Spurs and United striker Sheringham told Love Sport Radio he cannot imagine hiring anybody else to take the Red Devils forward.

“Pochettino is doing all the right things at Tottenham,” Sheringham told Comedy Countdown to Kick Off with Bell and Spurling

“People will say he hasn’t won anything but he’s transformed things in North London. He’s got them on the right path.

“He gets players playing to the best of their capabilities and that’s what you want as a manager.”

Pochettino signed a new five-year deal with Spurs in the summer to quash speculation linking him with the then-vacant managerial position at Real Madrid.

However, Sheringham does not think the club would stop him from moving to United should the opportunity arise at the end of the season.

“I don’t think it’s a case of whether Spurs will let him go and I don’t think it’s about money either,” he added.

“It’s just about what Pochettino wants to do. If United want him and he wants to go then I don’t think Tottenham will stand in his way.

“You can’t turn down the chance to join Manchester United as a player and it must be exactly the same as a manager.”

Very disappointed to see him chiming in. I thought a little bit higher of the man, but maybe I shouldn't have? fudging jumped ship from us pretty quick...

It’s sad as he used to be a complete hero at the club, used to have his name sung from the crowd on a regular basis and then he turned in to a clam. My thoughts are that he is obviously a United supporter now, rather than having any affinity with us. I’m not surprised in a way as he enjoyed more success at Manchester United and scored, and played, in memorable matches including their CL victory BUT i think that it’s a shame that he gives so little respect to our club.

He was only a hero on the pitch was old edward have met him many times as i used to pay football on occasion with his son back when I was younger.

He was a prick then even in a spurs shirt. Didn't have the time of day for his so called fans, would ask them to get away from his car, look the other way, and even give people that arrogant look like he could do something about "it".

If i was to see him now id wind him right up and goad him into showing himself to be the clam that I've met. fudging snake

Interesting that he was such a clam even back then. I hope none of our current players are like that. I guess it’s because we think of footballers as players, rather than personalities a lot of the time, holding them up to be matchday heroes that you almost don’t give them license to have personality either way. They are Spurs players and nothing else matters except for, like you said, when you have actual dealings with them.

In his defence, and he was a clam the one time I met him, he will only get paid by the papers or the radio for saying what they want to print. The media don't want to run stories on why MP should stay at Spurs. There is no clickbait or sales for that. Sherringham is taking his 30 pieces of silver for what they want to print. Crooks on the other hand has a regular column and no obvious editorial oversight, given the crap he spouts week in week out.

Carry On films. Kenneth Williams.

Catch phrase when something ‘saucy’ was said “oooooo, Matron”

Classic.

Not sure if I can post the link, but if you google "carry on dailymotion" there is a whole host of the full movies uploaded :)

Anyhoo, Carry On Discussing Mauricio.

You’re right but as a former Spurs ‘legend’ he shouldn’t be saying those things for a quick buck. There’s other ways of former players making money....

Sky peddling a headline of "Warnock; Poch should forget loyalty to Spurs". I instantly was tinkled off, but Sky have somehow changed the context of the interview from one where Warnock was saying loyalty isn't always rewarded with loyalty to leave Spurs. He even said that the grass isn't always greener and that UTD aren't what they were.
