As always, he pretty clearly doesn’t like talking about individuals and he doesn’t like talking down the players that were picked as if one of the bench deserves it more than them. His press quotes are pretty easy to decipher - he’ll be more forgiving when we’ve lost a game we should win. He’ll project more tinkled off when we fight hard but lose a tough game against a good side. And he’ll never talk up individuals ahead of the team.

Or is it: that you have a Davies returning from injury, a Dier coming off almost a year straight of injury and illness, and a Lamela that is seemingly one knock away from a few months out. Not to mention Sessegnon joining with hamstring problems.
The idea that it’s so easy to bomb these players out too soon is getting really tiresome. If he does it too soon, it renders them useless to us in our squad. It puts a lot of pressure on players that need to be eased back in and it takes away any reasonable back up, because you can’t bomb senior players and then ask to rely on them when you’ve done it.
He is absolutely a leader that is pragmatic and sees the bigger picture. The fact that he very obviously would like these guys to be sold and yet still plays them suggests to me he’s got some strategic thought behind his decision making, and he isn’t overly guided by emotion or personal preference. I quite like that about him.

If it was an isolated incident then your argument might have merit. Also why not play Rose in the home banker against Red Star? Why not play Winks?
Lucas, Ndombele and Davies could have all started today if fitness concerns were an issue after being rested on Tuesday no?
Alli is returning from injury but played both games.

What do you mean an isolated incident? I’m talking about the next few months, the rest of the season. By including Rose et al rather than bombing them too soon, he is ensuring that they can, if they are going to take up spaces in our squad, be relied upon in the rotation. If other players are going to suffer injuries or have settling in periods, we need them. It would be even worse for us over the long term if these players were bombed out, not used at all, creating a worse atmosphere around the place by being unused and then not able to be used when injuries occur and we need them. If they are going to be around the squad, they have to be involved.

Why do they have to be bombed out though. He's on record as saying players are paid to train not to play. If you're Lucas and Eriksen for example surely Lucas should be given priority as someone who is committed to your club and has a long term future. If you're a player likely to leave in no way can you be expecting to start games.
Isn't it going to create a worse atmosphere selecting players who want to leave over players who want to stay?

Yep, which is poor management. Fix your league form. That's the priority, top 4 for us should be easily attainable if focussed. Another miracle run to the final is highly unlikely. Then we'll be out of the Champions League and who knows where in the league.

Fair, but rotation is a luxury, not when you have now lost 20 out of your last 44 games ...
And our away form is the worst run since George Graham was manager … ffs!
Every argument for Poch goes out the window when you realize
- At HT, one of Dele or Eriksen needed to get off, even an argument to put Davies on as well instead of Rose
- The players were putting in such a shift, the full 3 subs needed to be on the pitch by 65-70 minutes max
- There is no way Lucas didn't have legs for this game.
This is stuff everyone saw from 20 minutes in .. a supposedly top level manager just let the game drift away from us and did nothing ...

It's not poor management. It's what he is paid to do. Had he lost Tuesday's game it would have been terrible for our confidence. No one expected a result in today's game.
