Mathys Tel

Just imagine a world where even if a player was having a poor game or wasn't performing over time the support from the stands was mostly supportive and encouraging.

Not going to happen, and just to be clear not saying that people aren't allowed to criticise or voice their dissatisfaction. Of course there will be frustration and sometimes that will come out.

But I agree, seems to be a lot of that negativity.

It happens here in Japan. The 90 mins is for supporting, no matter what. As soon as the final whistle goes, it can be pretty brutal as the teams have to go and face up to the supporters after every game.

I don’t think that’s the solution, but somewhere in the middle might be nice. At the very least, keep the criticism productive and not just slinging names and calling our manager “a fat clam” would be nice.

fudging love it! You have a team over there that you follow, right? Are your fans like that as well? If so, I envy you big time.

I have to admit that I've been flirting with the idea of finding a smaller team on the side to maybe feel like that again, but I'm too fudging loyal - I can't sleep with someone else now. I have to admit my heart really softened for Wrexham through that documentary, but even them now, having made it to the Championship, have a lot of their own fans hating and demanding! It's fudging crazy. Their owners have taken them from the absolute bottom to the Championship, have done so much for the community in the town, and even then you can't be happy and support your time. Crazy! What the hell is wrong with us? But to think of us becoming a group of supporters that just supported our players and club, like a huge mass of us, imagine what it could've been. Instead of being this mega monster Ltd of football biz, we could be together as a club and as a team, everyone supporting one another - imagine what we could achieve with that. We would easily attract the best players in the world. Who wouldn't want to work in an environment like that?

It's but a pipe dream, unfortunately, and will never happen. It's futile to think human nature will change anytime soon. There's too much hate and testosterone in this world. Some people seem afraid to be nice or just haven't learned how to. It's hard to be a dreamer in 2025.

People on teletext are saying this is a drama.

But I assume that Frank had an intelligent conversation with the *good friends* Odobert and Tel.
E.g. One of you can be in the CL squad and the other will be more likely to play in the PL and other cups.
One of you might feel hurt to be left out of the CL squad.
One of you might feel hurt that the other is more likely to play in the PL and cups.

There are lots of games, you are both very young, very talented and very much needed to see us through to May.

One of you might start off like a train and the other might be benched... then in 2 months that will swap around... then another 2 months and it swaps around again.

Probably by January we will have 5 more injuries to various players. You will get your chance. Be strong. Be ready.

And they feel pumped.

I think we can safely assume that games before/after CL ties will prominantly feature Tel in some role. He will probably end up getting more game time this way...he is very much a victim of not quite having a defined role yet.

Nah. I think Frank simply called Tel in, and had a one on one conversation explaining while he made the decision. Definitely would not call both of them in and talk to them together, no way.
