Luka Vuskovic

he has no love for tottenham
its what happens when you don't put football first - new stadiums and concerts don't attract the best footballers.
profit and move on...

Bit unfair. He was not allowed to join us until he turned 18. We got him 2 loans to Poland & Belgium and then to Hamburg where we specially wanted to go last season rather than be a backup for us.

Maybe there have been some conversations about how the he won’t be a starter this season. We don’t know. But the clubs already done right by him.

Maybe, I actually think a lot of the hype is because he's a defender who scores goals. How good is actually at defending? This remains to be seen.

Maybe he's a potential great but I dunno I'm not one to go along with the Spurs fan hype train, we are forever claiming a young player is the next coming and it's basically never the case.

There are always good players available, there will be another Vuscovic (assuming he meets the potential you believe him to have) and maybe the timing will be a better fit for us.

if Vuscovic doesn't see a future for himself here or doesn't see a scenario where he's going to develop which from his POV I can understand. We've finished 17th twice in a row, played dreadfully and naively and have now brought in 2 more CBs presumably ahead of him. Looking to go elsewhere, especially somewhere like Brighton where you can see their development history, it makes sense. So if that is all true then letting him go I don't think is that bad a decision.

A loan would be our best interest but the player seemingly doesn't agree. Should we force him to stay even if he now wants to leave?
You know he's overhyped on here purely by the fact that rather than people saying they really like him because of the way he does x,y and z (ie actually having seen a good number of games to make a judgement on him) you just get references about how he's linked to Barca and Bayern so must be really good.

Hes a talent, at this stage nothing more nothing less - this guy isn't going to change the needle dramatically if he doesn't fit in with the way RDZ wants to play, so better we all move on if that is in fact RDZs assessment. Would still rather we loan him out in the PL for a season, but RDZ is better placed than me to know what's best for player and club....

Look I have been clear I want to keep this guy. I’d even sell a solid pro like Danso to make sure he gets more minutes.

But this is really a win-win scenario for Spurs.

A) He stays, we have one of the best young CB’s in the world competing to start for us.

B) He goes out on loan and comes back next season an even better player.

C) We sell him and he never really pushes on and we have made a £40M+ profit.

D) We sell him and he becomes one of the best CB’s in Europe and we make another £10M+ without ever having to pay out a salary, bonus, agent fee.

I always think footballers often fail to think about the long term well enough. I can see the idea that he sees us signing VH and Senesi and decides that we don’t want him. But it’s clearly a response to having a wildly inexperienced squad and needing to counteract that. It’s nothing to do with our long term belief in him. And the likelihood is once we’re back in Europe and stabilised in the league he’d have more than enough minutes.

It just seems like needless posturing. The only other thing that makes sense is if he feels a permanent move gives him a boost in salary, and we’ve refused to give him a wage rise on his long contract.

Ill be very dissapointed if they sell him. Highly rated and young. I get as a player he needs to push on. Ok then. Stay and fight and prove you deserve the spot. Best player plays.

If Romero is truly being sold. I Cant see Phillips coming back to play for us. Dragusin also looks like a goner.

That would leave us with VDV, Van Hecke, Danso, Senesi and Lukovic. 5. If we do play three at the back then lots of chances to fight to start.

Simply put. he should be staying.

Big if on playing a back 3.

For anyone who has watched him, even in clips, I’m guessing he’s not the type of CB who passes out like Senesi or JVH? My one worry is RDZ doesn’t see him as the type of player he needs right now and the club try to back him for everything he wants.

Purely conjecture on my part, not seen or heard anything to suggest RDZ doesn’t rate him. Actually remember a quote from Vuskovic saying he’s excited to play under him De Zerbi

His desire to leave is down to potentially not playing. It’s completely different.
Yeah, because we massively overpaid for another CB that is MAYBE marginally better, and trade off a massive talent who's ceiling is WAY above Van Hecke. Again, just shows that the clown running this club are not fit to purpose.
Vuskovic has taken every level thrown at with, and then some. He'd be just fine. Why else are Brighton after him? Last time I checked, they played in the PL, and finished 10 place higher in the table! If he's good enough for them, then he's more than good enough for us!
