Lucas Bergvall

They got their way because they had a year left on their contract. Kane found out that if you have a long contract you won't get your way.
Bergvall comes across as sensible. He's better off staying where he is and developing. He knows he'll get game time. Either way he won't have a chocie for another couple of years.
Plus any of our real top players will only ever be sold to one of the real big boys eg Real/Bayern. They don't tend to spend big money on players unless they are almost/are the finished article. Bergvall is having a great first season, but is a long way from being there. Unless something crazy happens he will be here for another 3/4 years minimum I would imagine....

there is no joy nor achievement playing for spurs at the moment.

Could not agree more, he is still learning the game and has a great future in front of him for sure. I would be amazed if he wanted to move on as he is far better learning the trade here and i would be amazed if he or his advisors thought otherwise.

It's interesting reading this thread right after catching up on all the "what broke Deli?" stuff in the "Ange in or out?" thread.

Let's hope we don't overplay him.

Could not agree more. It is so, so important with him, Archie, and Moore (who to be fair is seemingly ubnder that radar).

Under the radar as he wasn't playing.

We had people saying Bergvall (and maybe Gray?) weren't ready and should be out on loan.

Now they will want them starting every game while calling for rotation, but complain if we do that we aren't playing this or that player.

Players get their way don't they . Baerbs, modric, Bale etc. We get a lump of cash but if the player wants to they will. Champions league is more important a bargaining chip than years left on contract

All 3 more than 12 years ago ...

While we have seen players leave bigger clubs than us, Spurs has done a pretty good job in last decade plus of managing who we want to keep.

in the last decade we've pretty much had european football most of the time. maybe one year out of it (unless we win europa cup) won't be an issue, but if we keep up our mid table performances we are surely going to be a very unattractive proposition to football talents.
