Tottenham v Cardiff

This is going to be a very different test for Tottenham after their defeat by Barcelona in midweek.

Spurs just have to look at that Barca game in isolation, and forget about it, because it will have no bearing on this game.

Cardiff will try to close Tottenham down and stop them playing but it is going to be difficult for them at Wembley.

The Bluebirds are in a similar situation to Huddersfield in that they are down at the bottom of the table and do not appear to have the personnel to do much about it.

At the top end, with two of the three teams above them - Emirates Marketing Project and Liverpool - playing each other, this is a big chance for Tottenham to get closer to at least one of them.

Lawro. It's Liverpool, a win is the only logical out come. City have had a slower start this season and it's the perfect time for Liverpool to bounce back.

Some quick research shows that the last time he predicted Liverpool would lose a game was March 2016, away to Southampton, for their only loss that season. Invincibles ever since, although with an ever increasing number of draws.
 
West Ham v Tottenham

Tottenham got the job done in their last game against Cardiff without being too easy on the eye, which has been the story of their season so far.

Spurs have not been looking that impressive, but that does not matter as long as you keep getting results.

I keep getting stopped in the street and asked "what is wrong with Liverpool's front three?" but I just go "played eight, won six, drawn two - yeah, they've got massive problems".

This will be a tough game for Tottenham, though. West Ham's revival was ended in their defeat by Brighton, but we know now what they are capable of and I think they are solid enough to hold Spurs.

The key to that happening is for the Hammers to hold up Harry Kane. He was excellent for England against Spain, so it is West Ham's turn to deal with him now.

Tottenham v Emirates Marketing Project (20:00 GMT)

Emirates Marketing Project beat Tottenham easily at Wembley at the end of last season and, with its wide open spaces, I think it is a stadium that suits them.

I cannot see any reason why City won't do something similar this time - especially now Kevin de Bruyne is back from injury.

City boss Pep Guardiola said his side's performance in their midweek win over Shakhtar Donetsk was the best he had seen since he has been at the club, so it would appear they are in decent form too.
