Finney Is Back

They should be.... Surely we didn’t spend £30m on Bergwijn to be a backup when we had pressing needs for first choice options right across the team?they ain’t the back up.

The European cup that Poch was too good for us to default into....TBF he probably looked here and saw we had the taken in some players in attack that maybe his other sides lacked when he took over (United and Chelsea didn’t have many Decent attackers hence why they signed strikers and attackers)
and when I’m talking history I’m talking about whilst Poch was here he won a league a European trophy and a cup
We might be back resorting to throwing all of our eggs into those sorts of baskets soon what with having such little chance of CL qualification. We don't win big/any trophies either so that's fine! I'll take winning a league cup and a Europa if that's all he can offer

We had little chance of CL qualification when Poch was sacked. Mourinho has come in and for one reason or another, it looks like we won't qualify. Does that make him a bad manager? A dinosaur? I don;t think it does. Look, we haven't played well since the restart but on the flip side, we've looked a lot more solid at the back and with a tiny bit of VAR luck, we'd have probably won yesterday, maybe even hung on against United. If in a years time, we're still having this conversation then maybe the Mourinho doubters/haters will have more sway. So the club needs to spend money To win thingsContinually referencing the EL and LC wins isn't a win for your pov
- United/Mou spent more money on that team than 90% of the teams in the competition combined - it perfectly illustrates a working formula when you out gun (financially) your opponents. Not something he will benefit from here
Obviously he has been employed because of his past glories but now he's here, they count for nowt and as such, he deserves the time any manager should get. And 6 months is nowhere near enough time to be judged, especially if that doesnt include a pre season. He has obviously prioritised us being more solid at the back and to an extent, bar the Sheff united debacle, this has been achieved. He'll know we're not playing well and I trust/hope he has enough clout to get it fixed. But perhaps I'm wrong and he doesn't in which case I'll hold my hands up. But I'm still optimistic with him in charge that we will win something, which is the whole bloody point after allDon’t know about that
It’s seem to be 2/3 want him gone and 1/3 thinking he needs more time
the argument is he is passed it and his past glories don’t count anymore even if they were won during Pochs reign here
But don't you think 6 months is just not long enough to give any manager, especially if that doesn't include a pre season? I agree, the football has been pretty wretched since the restart but there are a few mitigating issues there I believe
usually i'd agree, but like i said i've seen little to give me comfort Jose is the right man for the job.
Arsenal, despite still not being anywhere close to a finished article, appear far more sturdy since Arteta came in than before. Certainly on the attacking fluidity. Ancelotti has improved Everton and again, seems to be making a blueprint or vision for the future.
It seems we're a counter-attacking team, but at the same time, it's a bit square peg/round hole. If i recall yesterday we started with Bergwijn, Kane, Lamela and Lo Celso (with Son and Moura as substitutes) and we had zero shots on goal.
So what's the Plan B if evidently our players can't utilise Plan A well?

They also drew 0-0 with pool in the worst game I’d seen until last nightThe only game I’ve seen Everton play was against us and they were more atrocious than us so not sure they should be used as a yard stick!
