City do it all the time
PSG do it all the time
And systematic being caught and punished.
But let’s say City do they have in the past anyway, our main rivals like Arsenal, Leics and the 4th place rude boys are all in the same boat 400%
Our push forward in the summer % wise will be the same as our main rivals, so it’s all relative. 2 signings rather than 4 maybe, Arsenal are not going out this summer and miraculously sticking to their original pre Covid plans.
You make it sound like we are the only ones going to have a less expansive transfer window.
we are the only club whose transfer budget is a direct calculation of money in though, all the other clubs are owned by hedge funds, oligarchs and Middle Eastern states, the budget is at the whim of the owner or whoever they have left in charge of things
Not all and this thread is making it sound like we are the only club in the Prem that will be affected by Covid, we won’t be at all.
And as proven with City’s ban from Europe the FFP is getting dealt with more and Covid will have a huge impact on rich 3rd parties too.
Etihad will lose a billion, maybe more because of Covid...for example
only proper club (admittedly a churlish retort)
Doesn’t hurt them in the league, and isn’t enough of a deterrent to stop it being tried at other clubs in the future
that’s a rounding error to them, and they don’t care how much success of City costs, they want it because they want it, if they get bored they leave, and pull the rug out from city in the process, there is no long term duty of care there, they work for now, not the future of the club
Good job the lie about their numbersNot all and this thread is making it sound like we are the only club in the Prem that will be affected by Covid, we won’t be at all.

I work in the Middle East and have done for years (less 6 years in Canada) and I can tell you this will impact, the losses of revenue across the Emirates isn’t something they can write off lightly.
Anyway let’s say it doesn’t and you are right they constantly outspend is anyway and have already the result of that in their ranks, Emirates Marketing Project won’t need to make wholesale changes because of what’s gone before. And if they do that’s par for the not. I don’t see them as our true rivals anyway look at today’s team, even without Covid we are never spending what’s needed to compete with Emirates Marketing Project or Liverpool.
So let’s give Jose a lesser assignment, In our fight to regain 4th place football or win a cup the posts don’t move dramatically for us and not for our rivals in my opinion.
Jose has had one window when he got one of his target and he will get some movement in the next, maybe less than he would want but he will.
Let’s see if he and his hugely expensive coaching personnel can do the job at hand.
Maybe it’s his age and he is so set in his ways but when is the penny gonna drop with Jose that top teams don’t win things playing anti football anymore? The game has moved on since he was a dominant force in the game. Most/if not all of the top teams; Bayern, Liverpool, City, Barca attacking football and look to impose their style of play on teams, not soak up play and play chicken attempting a 1-0. I get that football is cyclical so my only guess is he is playing the long game and hoping this fad of teams going for the throat dies out and teams return to being cagey (especially in the CL) but I’m not sure i buy that as Jose has always been a short term manager.
But we’ve finished above them both multiple times in recent years, we have been competing with them at a lower spend through smarter scouting and coaching. We’ve proved it can be done.
That's quite a big statement to make.Brooks is a far better player then dele.
£15m a year for that complex coaching....Try to be tight defensively and hope the attackers make something happen
As it should beBut the defence looks miles better (it was looking so poor TBF)
And if he can fix that there is a chance of sorting out the other end
My worry is the reaction when we get spanked on Sunday will be huge
My worry is regardless of what I think it looks like people are going to give Jose a free pass.
Reading that we won’t have as much money to spend and the jobs tough that Jose will have zero expectations
The finance side will impact everyone to the same % variation, so any work in the summer will stack up against others in a relative way.
We might not sign as many as we wanted but neither will others for example.
Even those with rich third parties will have their income impacted to a level that their expenditure will be reeled in.
Jose is going to have to work outside the box and show he is worth his salary, that’s the long and short of it, that’s why we invested in not only him but a hugely expensive back room coaching team
Are Man Utd the only team allowed to use 5 subs?I’d say most teams look very mixed post covid
Look at results
We beat Everton and they drew with Liverpool who have won the league (before tonight that 0-0 was the worst game I’d seen in a long time)
The only team IMO who looks better is united and they now have a fully fit team and are using all their 5 subs and have the penalties to help if they struggle
Everyone else is really up and down
Took an own goal to beat West Ham.The results show that
We beat West Ham quite comfortably, they beat 3rd place Chelsea who game before had beaten Emirates Marketing Project, who then lost to Southampton away where they had shocking form all season
It’s all over the place
Their the team along with Chelsea that pushed for itAre Man Utd the only team allowed to use 5 subs?
We won 2 nilTook an own goal to beat West Ham.
A great battling point away to a team of similar standing to us.rightly chalked off and a 1-1 worked to a player with a low conversion rate who would have been schemed differently to others
it was brick no doubt, but we didn’t steal a point, it was a fair drawer between a team low on quality but strong on system/work rate and a team high on quality who couldn’t be arsed to show it
