No I was being facetious as Hart was taken by us after a few clubs lower in the food chain than us has deemed him not good enough.
I was disappointed Gazza didn’t seize his chance when Lloris was injured and had been culpable for a few errors in big games, the Chelsea brain fart was horrendous but even so I feel that Hart had shown nothing in the last few years of his career to offer the suggestion he was an improvement.

Southampton didn’t want Gaza either remember
Maybe it was as simple as homegrown problems which are regularly forgotten about when fans talk about signings

We signed him from Southampton rather than picking him up as a free agent. I’m not saying we don’t can’t improve on Gazza but Hart’s form was showing terminal decline, but yes valid point on HG. Perhaps we should look at some videos of the player next time rather than just his passport!

I know he’s a great cheerleader / winning mentality etc but I don’t know how he can chest thump or be taken as a viable proposition in training after today. On the play side it will increase Bales confidence if he takes a few long pops at him in training.

Maybe
Or just accept that if we didn’t have the need for harts passport we may not have been able to play someone else... and that someone else may be a player that gives a really first team starter a break

I accept it as we’ve signed him, but for his wages I’m sure we could have found someone with the same passport who can save the ball. We probably won’t see him for a while and maybe he can work on it in training but I truly hope we don’t see him in a meaningful game as I think the team will be nervous in front of him.

I can’t think of an alternative currently who is English... but I haven’t thought hard about it TBF

I would have liked Foster but I think he wanted to stay first choice. Heaton at Villa off the top of my head but maybe we signed Hart early and Martinez hadn’t gone in as their no. 1?
 
I've got a UK passport, I'm better than Hart, but then again so is my 7yr old son, and he'd take minimum wage.

I don’t know our youth team all that well. I would imagine we have at least one youth keeper that would qualify as better than Hart.
 
Don’t rate Gazza at all and was all for Hart who I think still has ability and brings experience that Gazza doesn’t. But last night was an absolute horror show after a good start. The first goal was terrible but the second...

Id still have Hart as second choice but it’s very hard to make a credible case for him after last night.
 
With Lloris being COVID-ed and the lingering embarrasment of the Goons performance last weekend, I'm having horrible, feverish fantasies of this guy flapping away at a last minute losing goal against them.

It's got me feeling down man.

You are being wonderfully optimistic to think that the first shot on target he will face will be in the last minute...
