Good player for a specific role, was a 50M player 12 months ago.
With Kudus & Palinha, so far two players with PL experience, both have something very different to our current squad.
It is the "12 months ago" that is so relevant to me. It's not that long ago. If he hits his Fulham form then we'll be in great shape.
Most likely we'll see a player in transition as he enters his 30s. The interesting areas will see how fast the ageing process is happening to him, as the middle of the park is a very physically demanding place to play. I think Frank will have him as his Norgard in this setup. He won't be as all action as the Fulham Palhinha but will be critical in that role which we should expect to see rotated frequently with the different squad players we have.
And brings in experience. And from what I've seen at least on the pitch leadership. We dont know as always, good/bad news is he wasn't used that much last season, so should be fresh.
50M player on basically a wages risk only loan that (Id assume) buys us a year and frees up money for spending elsewhere
YesQuestion: Would you have been hugely underwhelmed if we had bought him last year for £47 mill from Fulham instead of Bayern?
See Joao getting the number 6 shirt, this is the spirit we want to see from our 6.

Oh Thomas. Thomas, Thomas, Thomas.......you'll learn.....TF sounds like he knows what he's doing...
"But [Palhinha’s] defensive qualities, his ability to be in the centre of the pitch, very disciplined, his distribution, short, diagonals, [passes] in behind and then his ability to break up play. Especially if you are playing away from home or against good counter-attacking teams. It’s very important to have one that, you know, is not running away or gets attracted to something. His set-piece ability in both boxes is a key thing and he has some experience which is good."
What do you mean by that? Does Palhinha not have good ability for set pieces?Oh Thomas. Thomas, Thomas, Thomas.......you'll learn.....

I like this guy's videos a lot. Good analysis without the annoying persona of your typical youtuber.
It's probably just reaffirmation bias, since I don't think Palhinha is a complicated type of player. He has a particular skillset and if used to perform in that role, he should excel.I'm trying to work out if it's good analysis, or I think it's good because it validates my pre-existing opinion ha...
But it is a wonder, why did Munich sign him if they have no need for a ball winning midfielder. They've already got the ball, obviously more progressive passers like your Kimmich and Groetzka are going to flourish more in games where they're going to dominate.
We were crying out for experience, to steady the ship when needed and set an example for young players. Whilst I like Bissouma a lot as a character, there were just too many crazy moments for him to be a player the youngsters look up to. TBF he was great in the semi and the final of the EL. Seems to make sense to move him on and get Bentancur on a new contract..
