He's also said that he was almost constantly injured last season, and played against Argentina with an injured ankle at the WC. I think he had a bad season, and was horribly mismanaged.

Good news. Seems motivated and like he says if he wasn't happy to stay he wouldn't have entered negotiations.

Verts signing a new long term contract and motivated to play at CD for us, would be nearly as important as Lamela starting to show the promise he showed in Roma. Come on, Jan - just do it!

Tottenham fans are so fickle, most of you on here were ****ging him off last season and posting on this forum about how you all wanted him to fcuk off out of our club. :lol:

The lack of pace combined with Pochs wish for a high line could be a problem pairing Vlad and Verts. Still hoping Kaboul could come back to match fitness and stay away from injuries. He's got the pace needed. But, that is probably the same chance for that as when we were hoping for Ledley to stay fit...

I thought Vlad had a decent turn of pace? Although neither are particularly physical defenders so pairing either Vlad or Jan with Kaboul or Dawson probably provides a better balance.

If only we still had a centre back who could do it all, like Ledley in his prime...
