so i asked Aria AI to summarise that article and it seems to point to player overuse as a general cause, better training and rehab as mitigation strategies and we are above the norm in the number of hamstring injuries.No not especially. Of course there is something to it, but the notion that Angeball is the only reason hamstring injuries occur is simply not true. Here's a graphic from Opta from Feb 2025 which I believe is a little more accurate to the one you posted. And here's a link to a decent overview of the reasons behind hamstring injuries in today's game (this is something which has been discussed many times, specifically with regards to the overload on players game wise for multiple breakless seasons)...
