Unstoppable form!

@Squawka
Harry Kane is now the outright leading goalscorer in the Premier League with 18 goals.
Not bad for a one-season wonder…

Next thing to do now is fire us to a trophy. He's absolutely smashing the league.

kane has the ability to strike them from distance... should do it more often. not sure if poch holds him back ...
he should be taking more direct free kicks as well...

He looks so sharp now, it's a joy to watch. As in form as it gets. Just in time for the run in.

Coincidentally we also look much better as a team now than earlier in the season. Movement, pressing, passing - it's all coming together smoothly.

Same thing happened last season. Will be interesting to note if it continues right through instead of fading away when Chelsea clinch the title/May rolls around.

Also, I wonder why we kick into gear at this time of the year. Is it because we finally click, or is it because we were always capable of this but just came up against fresher opponents more energetically committed to defending in the first half of the season?

Yes, and on top of that we do appear to have a much stronger collective resolve this season to MAKE things go our way. You get a sense that the whole side knows we just cannot afford to slip up.

Even so, today's late comeback shows we're still not quite there yet. Hopefully those two late Everton goals will turn out to be a blessing in disguise inasmuch as they demonstrated quite graphically how critical it is to keep going with the energy and resolution right through to the final whistle.

First one is very very unlucky. If Jan doesn't slip it doesn't happen.

Regardless of how many goals Kane scores this season, he has not been at his best form in the league like last season.
With him on 14 goals and 13 matches remaining, I just can't seem him overtaking the 25 league goals he scored last season. In fact, won't be surprised if he doesn't overtake the 21 league goals he scored in 2015.

Make that 19 goals in 22 league matches and 24 goals in 28 matches all competition

Considering he missed 7 weeks of the season I would suggest he has been in better form than last season

"Sometimes he's upset because sometimes he wants to do finishing on the afternoon and we say 'no, it's not the moment, tomorrow.’

"He says, 'no, but I want to today in the afternoon. I want to do double session'. I say, 'Harry, no. Harry, no.' He says, 'Oh gaffer, come on, I feel good, I am not tired.' I say, 'No, but it's not good for you.'

"Then it was, 'okay, at the end, maybe half an hour finishing' - even though we needed to call two or three keepers from the academy. That shows his determination and character."

You gotta love his work ethic

Andrea Belotti, eh? o_O
Absolutely ridiculous stats though! Holy fudge. I really hope he's sincere about staying here long term. :)

He's mentioned that he wants to stay here long-term, but he's also mentioned that his nightmare would be a career without trophies. I think if we go down the Arsenal route after the completion of the stadium, he'll be off - everything depends on convincing him and other lynchpins that our spending and ambition will *increase* immediately after the stadium's built, not stagnate or retreat.
