Harry Kane MBE

FWIW... I can find only 3 players who've managed that feat, since the Premier League started...

Fowler scored 25+ for 2 consecutive seasons, followed by 18 goals, by the time he turned 23.
van Nistelrooy scored 20+ in his first 3 seasons at ManU but was already 25 when he joined them.
Shearer scored 25+ for 4 consecutive seasons, starting when he was aged 23.
Henry scored 24+ for 5 consecutive seasons, starting when he was aged 24.

Kane will have to go some to match Greaves though, as Jimmy scored 20+ goals starting as a 17 year old and did so for 8 seasons on the trot; probably would've been 12 seasons in a row had he not missed 3 months of 65/66 due to hepatitis.

Now that's what I call a post 2017!

Greavsie was on fire.

Look at Ibrahimovic banging them in at age 35, Harry similarly doesn't rely on pace and is physically robust. We could easily have him producing at this level for the next ten years, just so long as we are successful enough as a club to keep him.

Agree, and that is one of the main reasons we HAVE to start winning things sooner rather then later.

The best players want to win trophys ( look at Carrick, Modric and Bale) if we do not do that then it will be more then likely that a few of our better players will leave and go where they will.

True

Reality is though I think there are less and less teams that can win trophies now so making it appealing to prospective new signings players will be pickier and more focussed on the £££

I think thats partly true, I also think the market has been flooded now, when you look at how teams play its one up top and everyone now has a top number 1 striker, if not two.

Chelsea - Costa, Man U - Ibra, Emirates Marketing Project - Name one of several

Goals and shots in England, Spain, Germany and Italy this season; all players with 14 goals or more plus Aguero and Neymar.

Kane 17-63 (27%)
Aubameyang 19-76 (25%)
Suarez 18-73 (25%)
Lukaku 17-68 (25%)
Modeste 17-70 (24%)
Belotti 17-71 (24%)
Higuain 19-85 (22%)
Lewandowski 19-88 (22%)
Costa 16-73 (22%)
Defoe 14-64 (22%)
Messi 20-104 (19%)
Sanchez 17-91 (19%)
Icardi 16-87 (18%)
Mertens 16-93 (17%)
Ronaldo 16-109 (15%)
Ibrahimovic 15-102 (15%)
Dzeko 19-133 (14%)
Immobile 14-99 (14%)
Aguero 11-80 (14%)
Neymar 6-61 (10%)

Nicked this from Guardian comments, so can't guarantee it's accurate, but interesting for people who think he misses too many - guess no striker would keep you happy.

Of course, but if our players are as good as we think they are then eventually there will be clubs who do win things coming in for them.

But I think that list of clubs is getting smaller which means there is more competition for places in those teams too

Of course but the best players will always interest the top clubs, if the likes of Kane, Alli etc keep improving then they will be wanted. What we have to do ( by that i mean the club) is give them a reason to stay here, and winning things will help us to do that.

Of course and it's a worry for me as Poch doesn't seem to know how to change a game

I was stunned yesterday that winks didn't come on for dembele again for example

Great managers create great sides... the best manager win trophies. Mou yesterday changed the unite side by bringing on rashford... he knows how to change it up to win one off games and get important results. We suffer massively from that

I think he is learning though and like the team will improve as the go on ( i hope), Jose has been at it for a long time and Poch is still a novice compered to him. I think we do agree mainly on what we need to do though.

As for Winks i would have started him yesterday, Dembélé is once again reverting to what he was a couple of seasons ago, plenty of ability but he failed to deliver what he should. Of course that is my opinion and i know there will be some who disagree with that.

I think players go for bigger wages before trophies. If that is the case it will always be difficult to compete with the financially doped teams, Utd and Madrid. Of course the two things, that is higher wages and ability to win trophies tend go together. Sadly I think we will lose both Kane and Alli eventually.

But it would be nice for the fans and team morale to win things.

Kane has been pretty ruthless this season but we could do with some of his colleagues being a tad more clinical too, if we want to catch those Chavs...

Emirates Marketing Project 51 from 402 (12.7%)
Liverpool 54 from 428 (12.6%)
Everton 42 from 341 (12.3%)
Tottenham 50 from 449 (11.1%)
Man Utd 38 from 429 (8.9%)

Players who've scored more than 1 league goal this season...

Hazard 10 from 54 (18.5%)
Pedro 7 from 33 (21.2%)
Willian 5 from 32 (15.6%)
Alonso 4 from 29 (13.8%)
Cahill 3 from 14 (21.4%)
Fabregas 3 from 15 (20.0%)

Rose 2 from 23 (8.7%)
Wanyama 2 from 32 (6.3%)

Frank Sinclair on SSN tonight, Kane will only be world class if he goes to Man united or Chelsea

and they pay these clams to make these opinions :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Translation, we won't turn on the tossfest unless he's at one of the clubs we are paid to be completely biased for based on the marketing campaign our organization as help create/support over the last decade aimed at mostly bandwagon fans.

Same pundits who often didn't give Modric credit for what he was at Spurs ...

You were saying

;)

Happy to be proven wrong. After the hattrick against Stoke which brings his total to 17 league goals, Kane does look like capable of reaching 21 or even 25 goals this season. But still feel his standard has dropped this season. He was very poor against the big teams and in Europe. Can't blame him as we rely entirely on him for our goals, putting undue pressure on him all the time.
