Harry Kane MBE

It was a tough game, what's been lost in a lot of the celebration is how hard we had to work for that.

Kane had two real opportunities I can recall, the penalty and the shot late on that hit the side netting ... he damn near scored both .. not much else you can ask.

I agree a rest would help, be interesting to see how Poch approaches the next 4 games ...

He's always a threat, it's not that. I just thought he wasn't as hard working as we're used to seeing, and that his first touch - normally top notch - let him down on several occasions.

It should have course be a case of us being used to seeing consistently top class performances abd efforts from him, and that any slight blip in form is a potential worrying sign.

Anyway, I'm sure Poch will handle this very well, and I'm sure Kane will be back to his best again soon.

I thought it was Harry's weakest game for a long time. First touch and passing was poor but all players have off days at whatever level...

I was worried about the penalty because he must have known he wasn't playing well and that can affect confidence.. That is why he went down the middle I think.. He knows hart will dive one way or the other so middle is safe option... But who cares he scored, and without him playing well we still won 2-1 at Emirates Marketing Project...

COYS.

He looked shattered yesterday, great win but I think we needed an outlet, abit like Lamela when he came on, best case of defense is attack as you give their back 4 something to worry about, but Kane looked dead on feet.

True his touch was not there yesterday but we also have to give credit to City for so effectively locking him out. They were boosted by the return of Kompass and fired up following their defeat to Leicester last week and often more than matched our determination and energy. They have skilful players who yesterday were very slick in possession, making it very difficult for us to get balls through to him.

Absolutely, do not underestimate the quality of their players. If they collectively decides to put the effort in, they're very hard to stop as we saw in stints. Luckily for the league, it's painfully obvious that they lack direction with an in-depth gameplan and are solely reliable on individual skill, motivation and form. But it's not easy, how do you properly motivate a jumbled-together bunch of 20-30 year olds with bazillions of dosh to do little else than kick a ball around, add to that believes that the universe revolves around them? You can't befriend them, you can't be the good guy, the father figure or even the mentor, as most of them are idiots anyway. One thing that do work, however, is to go low-level and scare them sh*tless, as old Ferguson did. Hopefully Pep won't think of or even be able to do that.

Just read Hart was joking about how Kane always goes down the middle when they are training with England.

ha ha, he called it

If that's true, then full marks to Kane for going down the middle anyway. Ice cold.

There was the risk that Hart would just stand up and catch the ball at chest height, making it look like the worst penalty ever. To call his bluff and do it anyway took balls.

This for me as well, City are not a bad side and in Kompany have a top CB. It was not his best game but he still caused their back four problems with his movement.

Definitely would save Kane for Saturday. In fact I would put Son out wide and have Lamela upfront. Just watched it again on SpursTv and lets not forget he scored a hat-trick in the last EL match v Moanco.
Such a shame N'jie is out, because that N'jie,Onomah,Lamela and Son as the front four led them a merry dance in that first half

Had a week between the Watford and City games. He's played a lot this season and it might be catching up with him. But it might also just be that he was up against a very good centre back pairing and a very solid side overall so he struggled to make his usual impact.
