Europe has nothing to do with us playing **** ..

And it kills me that people who want CL, seem to think we can't play in Europe and PL at same time?
 
Its the only thing we've got left to play for

You also can't keep a squad big enough to be competing in the top 4 if you are not playing in Europe. Playing in EL is essential to progession into the CL.
 
If we'd tired as the game went on, then you might have a point.


However we were **** from start to finish. Had nothing to do with the Europa league.
 
Defo. Forget the league now and just finish wherever we finish. Play each leg in the Europa like it is a final and see where we can go with it. I don't subscribe to the view that the competition has caused our problem today or before, I think it is just down to the spineless mentality that seeps through our club and seems to infect virtually every signing we have. And those it doesn't infect don't seem to stay here very long.
 
May as well win the Europa given it's the final year before it rewards the winners a CL place, it's the Spurs way.

The group stage will be ideal for van Gaal to get to know his squad.

We need City to win the League Cup next weekend though, as we're not going to hang on to 5th.
 
it's a ****e excuse trotted out to alleviate blame from those that deserve it - the teams which occupy the positions we aim to be in can juggle European football and a domestic campaign and if we ever want to replace one of them we have to be able to do the same.

not to mention it's a European cup competition and in keeping with the traditions of the club we should be wanting to win such tournaments.
 
I thought our depth was amazing? Are we the only club in world football who moan about European football ?

This. Not a chance we can make up 7 points on Liverpool.
If we won the EL, we might stand a chance of keeping the likes of Lloris, Vertonghen, Eriksen and Lamela, all of whom I can see leaving unless something changes.
