Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale

Will stick up for Bale tonight. He clipped his own legs, wasn't a dive. And what a goal!!

Now Aaron Ramsey on the other hand definitely dived.

Quite obviously hits his own leg, so not a dive. He has dived before, yes, but this simply isn't one of them.

Are you kidding me? i mean are you being serious?

Do you know footballer are taught to clip their own own leg and go down. He didn't clip his own leg by accident ffs, that's a skill(cheat) some of them have mastered in order for it to look like there has been contact. This is a blatant dive, if anything it's even worse than the Villa one because there can be no argument he was trying to avoid contact with a player. Utterly disgusting.

I dunno, you make it sound like players do this all the time. Well I've been watching footy for nearly sixty years but somehow that particular skill has escaped me 'til now.

wow, just wow. The thing is, it just devalues your other opinions on the subject, makes it seem like you have some sort of agenda, unable to be objective about it.

Re: Gareth Bale

utterly amazing. There was even a documentary (or some extended clip) talking about it. It explained how footballers are being taught to clip there own leg in order for it to look like the opposition player caught them ( i think it was spainish as David villa and a few other players talked about it). Wait i'll try and find it..

Re: Gareth Bale

Seconded

Fantastic goal. How did he play, was Adam playing as well? I'm currently sitting by a log fire in a lodge next to a recently erupted volcano, I'm pretty disconnected at the moment bar a bit of internet connection!

came on as a sub at half time, and it was Adam who Bale waltzed past before hitting the 25 yard blockbuster \o/ Adam couldnt get anywhere near him

Re: Gareth Bale

Believe me when i say i'm not the one with the agenda.

I'm with KD on this. This has been aired in the media before. Whether Bale does it deliberately or not in this instance, players definitely do clip themselves and go down and it has been on a documentary or something. I can't remember where. I thought Patrick Viera was talking about it but maybe not.

The point with Bale here from the above clip (I didn't see the game live so maybe this is unfair) is that he must know that it is one of his feet clipping the other leg, whether deliberately or not, and yet his arms still go up as he rolls in appeal. It is the claiming which to me is the issue (be it for a corner, throw in, free kick or penalty) when you know it isn't which bugs me. Penalties arre just higher value cheating but it is all aprt of the same attitude.

In his defence, his foot may have brushed the defender when he cut across which may have pushed one leg onto the other but I'm not convinced from this clip.

Noticing from the gif Adam still tried to come in elbow flying. Burn motherfudger, Burn!
