Fixture & Ticket News 2017/18

Ha. That would go down well!

I wonder how many perennial profiteers there are, as opposed to fans who genuinely can't attend odd games?
Maybe there should be a cap on the number of times you can re-sell a ticket each season.

That and ID checks at away games.

Your seem rather insecure about the attendance. Sure, it would be nice if we sold out...but at the end of the day, who really cares? It’s a stadium more than double our normal one, and a third bigger than our new one. “PR own goal” - rubbish.

Common sense at last, why is it that no matter what happens some just have to bitch. Who really cares about how many we sell or do not, if you want to go to a game pay yer money and accept that the situation ( at least for now is what it is). Some people are NEVER happy.

No greens at all for Chelsea now quite a lot of the upper blocks all completely sold too
Yep, there were no greens to be seen :D yesterday either.

Hopefully that's the end of the green blight. About a third of the upper tier is sold out and or very close to it.

So roughly that's 48k (the lower tiers effectively sold out) plus 25k sold in the upper tier. It's all guess work, but my guess is about 73k sold so far, for me if we get 77k that's okay, at least it's a new Prem record and an all-time 'domestic record' for us.

Nothing sold in the top tier today, only sung when we were winning, and you could hear people talking amongst themselves in the second half! Now I know how it feels to be a goon.

I don't think you can compare this badly priced friendly game in the middle of summer holiday with any of the league games.

I think lots of people care whether we sell out v Chelsea or not, but even if they don't, I certainly do.

If we only got 60-70k then I think it would be a PR 'own goal', you think otherwise, no problem.

Luckily, I am confident that we will get substantially more than 70k so that particular 'own goal' won't happen.

On what basis would it be a “PR own goal?”

Because there would be huge amounts of empty seats for a London derby between the teams who finished first and second in the league last season.

But as I've already said we're going to get substantially more than 70k, so there's no need to worry about that scenario. Looking at seats sold so far, I'm confident we'll get more than 76k, so we're on course for a new Prem record, and beating our own all-time 'domestic record'.

I've still got a little hope we can beat our own all-time English home attendance record, which would be a brilliant testament to our fans giving the pricing and our lack of purchasing new players. Some incomings this week would help sales, more importantly a win at Toon, with the added bonus of the return of the 'prodigal Son' :)

Depends on your optics. 60-70k would represent a huge number of seats sold, rather than a huge amount of empty seats.
It looks like we are going to either sell-out, or not be far off, so it's all a bit of a pointless debate but selling out really doesn't matter that much, apart from more seats sold = more revenue for the club, which is good given what we have going on at the moment.

Sissoko? :)

Take your point about a 'glass half-full' GL :)

As I've said, I think selling out would be great.

It would send a brilliant PR message all around the football world, if we broke every English home attendance for our first home Wembley game in the Prem, which we would do in the event of a sell out. Naturally, if we don't quite sell out, but still break all the records, with say 86k, that would more than good enough, so in that respect, I agree with you.

Given the Sky publicity machine will be in overdrive for this one, it's news that would travel far and wide.

Like the 'prodigal son' remark. I should have said Son of course :)

It won't matter a great deal if we don't sell out for Chelski. It would be great if we were to sell out against Huddersfield, Watford and Leicester.

I take your point, but I would turn it around. If we don't sell out against Chelsea that's a good indicator we won't sell out v Huddersfield, etc, which is one more reason why it would be great to sell out v Chelsea.

I understand that you want us to sell out, of course I too would prefer that to empty seats. But, other than a few 14 year olds on Twitter, I just genuinely don't think anyone outside of Spurs would really care - no PR issue at all.

Anyway, it's not a huge issue - probably not worth wasting every one's time debating it here so that's all from me on the topic. :)

aha - but if we're selling out against (perceived) lower clubs late on, then it should mean we're in the running for something and playing well.

When will Chelsea go on general sale ?
I would expect a few footie tourists to turn up, bloke in my office is a northerner and he can't get to watch his team so said he would take his nipper to watch Spurs if he can get tickets

The ground is going to be half empty v the likes of Huddersfield & Burnley, unless the team are performing well. I don't care on numbers though, it's always going to be tough to fill a stadium this size when ticket prices are as they are.

All that's left is for those that are going to make as much noise as possible. I do get the feeling that it's going to be a quiet year though. Oh well, it's only for a year. Then after this year we'll be in our true new home.

It already is. But it's restricted - you need to have been registered and have a client ref number.

We'd better get convincing wins vs Saudi Sportswashing Machine and Chelsea to help the Burnley game then...
