Fixture & Ticket News 2016/17

Compensation for ST Holders only.

Basically saying as the ballot had not been held, members should not have been making any plans.

Charming. It's been said many times before, it's not a football club anymore, its a business. Well to make up for the money lost on the hotel you can have my tickets back for the West Ham match, I will stay at home and watch it on TV now.
Something I will be doing a lot more from now on, I can find better ways to spend my wages on

Sorry to hear that you are thinking about that, football has lost a lot of traveling supporters over the last several years and its a shame that supporters who spend a lot of time and money traveling to games are way down the pecking order and thoughts. Football has been slowly dying since Sky reared its ugly head and its all about money now.

If it was not for having Spurs in my blood i would have packed it in years ago and they are several who i travel with who have the same feelings. I always remember KB saying " there used to be a football club over there" now its a case of " football used to be a great game".

Good to hear, we need as many supporters like yourself as we can get. I have friends who i have gone to games with for many years who have decided that they have had enough of greedy players, greedy agents, Sky and their money grabbing, and whinging fans every time we fail to win a game that they have sadly packed it in.

Not good at all from the club! Do they expect people to wait until a couple of weeks before when it comes to making travel/hotel arrangements by which time train prices have gone through the roof?!

I'm struggling to think of any other industry where the service provider provides such a poor level of customer service to their paying customers as football clubs do. Then again why should they? They know we're hooked for life.

Really wish I could get rid of Sky but I still watch too much of it to cancel. Would love them to go bankrupt and for another supplier to take over.

To be honest i got shut of it years ago and i have never missed it, i know i am a old fart :( but the game changed when Sky got hold of it and (imo) not for the best. I go to most of the games so i do not need it to get my Spurs fix and if i really want to watch other teams i can find a place to do so. Sky have made the game into nothing much more then money, armchair supporters ( some who have never kicked a ball in their lives) into thinking they could do better then the ones who work in the job.

Add to that the financial doping that has gone on at some clubs and the greed that runs through the game then its hard to take/have the same interest in a game i have played, worked in and watched for most of my life. As i said earlier i love my club and i do not know if i will ever be able to walk away from them but i really do dislike what the greatest game in the world has turned into.

As i said i am a old fart and i am sure that most of the younger fans will disagree with my opinion i only hope that they do not start to feel the same way i do once they see the game they love change as much as i have seen the one i first took up do.

I appreciate in a way what they were getting at re: booking hotels/trains before the ballot, but like you say, how long can you wait. If they announced TV fixtures earlier, maybe we wouldnt need to.
Katrina mentioned in a reply to me the club justify refunding all members who added pre-booked before the ballot. I agree with that and those that dont get a ticket, well thats the gamble, but thought successful members should be considered.

Anyway irrelevant now I suppose, not happening

Premier League executive chairman Richard Scudamore says at least one block of away supporters will be pitchside at every game in the division from next season.

Scudamore believes the initiative – which will affect clubs who traditionally place fans in the upper tier of a stand, such as Sunderland and, if they are promoted, Saudi Sportswashing Machine – will improve atmosphere at all grounds.

He announced the measures while releasing details of an investigation into pricing to attend matches, with the report by Ernst & Young claiming the average cost of a Premier League ticket is £31.

But Scudamore has also told clubs they must reallocate where they sit away fans if they are not currently based in the lower tier of any ground, with newly promoted clubs also having to implement them from next season.

"Basically you won't be able to be stuck up in the third tier, out in the corner, if you're an away fan," Richard Scudamore, Premier League Executive Chairman, told Sky Sports News HQ.

"Pitch-side is the easiest way of describing it but clearly some ground configurations [mean] there might be some gap between where the seats actually are, and there might be something else in between that and the pitch.

"It's about atmosphere. One of the unique things about our game, particularly in England, is the amount of away fans and the noise they create.

“When an away goal is scored, you want that atmosphere and interaction between the two sets of fans."

Another away day that doesn't get to members, basically becoming a closed shop with the members just feeding on scraps like Middlesborough and Stoke.

Of course Sunderland away on a Weds night in Jan will be up for grabs though

I feel your pain mate. Now resigned to a future with the League Cup being my best opportunity to get to live games, unless Carlisle progress, we draw them at home in the 3rd Round and they take us to a replay. It's increasingly like trying to win the lottery............. Oh yeh:oops::rolleyes::(

Did Carlisle away a few seasons back, what take that draw in the 3rd round of the FA Cup

The price of progress and success I suppose. Away games becoming a rarity for mere mortals, and if we don't get to a Cup Semi or Final before the new Stadium opens and 40k new ST holders, I probably will never get to Wembley again. Bronze membership is fast becoming worthless.

will be nearer 55,000 season tickets at the new ground

I'm a ST holder but I have less than 100 points so it's a struggle for me also. Gunna try and do Sunderland and Swansea away just to boost the points up.
