Exactly this, nothing to do with superiority I would be as upset if not worse if the Tories decided to buy the club
Well the ex chairman of the tory party does own shares. Michael ashcroft owns 4% of us.

But that's exactly what ENIC did when they bought us. They previously owned Slavia Prague and Vinceza and had minority ownership of Rangers and AEK. They then pulled their money out when a more potentially prosperous opportunity (Spurs) came about. If it's an issue now, was it an issue for you before?

The Telegraph are reporting this would be £1bn for a 25% stake using new shares so the money goes to the club for investing in either clearing the debt or player recruitment.

I'm with Simon Jordan on this. I don't think they'll invest and take a minority share. Why would they? It makes no sense. Full takeover, yes, but not necessarily Spurs.

Well surely they have to sell PSG anyway as someone said thats the plan? Surely they can sell Braga too?
They are selling a minority share in psg. They don't want to sell braga they bought their share last year. They want connections of different clubs. Now they may sell more of psg and have a majority in an english club eventually but doesn't seem immediate.
Basically they want what red bull and city have. A network of clubs. But by law they can't have a majority share in more than one european club.
If this comes to fruition, it will be the final nail in the coffin for me as a 'supporter'. I will always follow Spurs, but if it was just about winning trophies, i would have changed allegiances in 2003 and supported Chelsea. Of course it will be difficult to ween myself off the unhealthy drug that is THFC, but supporting a club and spending money on the club when so tightly associated with less desirable organisations, becomes much harder for me personally.
The money involved in prem footy has been putting me off for a few years anyway, and i took solace in Spurs trying to do things sustainably and the right way, but tinkling money away ala Chelsea, bricky and Poocastle isn't for me.
Surely that works for them because they are called Redbull etc etc? Do not New York play in basically a Emirates Marketing Project kit and called City? But an investment in Spurs offers zero profile and no return to their investment? Just not sure it adds up for me but as I have already said, that could well just be me

could be we are the key to the branding, Paris Spurs Germain, Spurs Club Braga
Amen brother and pretty much sums my feelings up as we.. I have worked, played and supported the game for over 60 years and i must admit that a lot of my love for the game has fallen over the last decade or so. Sky, BT, bent agents, bent money being plowed into the game by despots and idiots on the TV spouting off about how great the SPORT ( and i say that tongue in cheek) is.
I still go but i find the love i had for Spurs and the game over the years has fallen and i sometimes wonder why i bother as much any more. Sad times.
It's like in any walk of life, until people say enough is enough nothing changes. Football won't change either until there is a backlash from fans.
TBH Though its not so much moral code its what my heart tells me, like I say, my love for football has been on the wane for a while now for various reasons and I just could not get aboard the almost clinical nature of a team injected with cash to win things. I would not knock anyone who wants that and the pain of not winning things I also feel, I just know the feeling for me would be sweeter winning something without the doping.
